It’s been over a month since Jenelle Evans’ kids were removed from her home following a CPS investigation which concluded that she had failed to provide a safe and healthy home environment.
In the weeks since, Evans and husband David Eason have been battling to regain custody, thus far to no avail.
The odds are stacked against the Easons, which might explain why they’ve taken to pulling out all the stops and fighting dirty.
David is set to take the stand today, and those who have been watching the case closely believe he’ll go on the offensive against his kids’ current caretakers.
Meanwhile, Jenelle has been going off on her mother, Barbara Eason, and trying to make the case that the kids are no safer with her than they were on the land.
Yes, believe it or not, this situation is still getting uglier.

Dueling Evanses
Prior to this increasingly messy custody battle, Jenelle and Barbara were actually on good terms with one another for the first time in a very long time.

After years of rocky relations, Jenelle and Barbara turned things around during the filming of what would turn out to be Jenelle’s final season on Teen Mom 2.

Granted, this was at least partially out of necessity, as David had already been fired from the show, and Jenelle needed a sounding board for her endless tirades.

Whatever the case, Jenelle and Barbara’s brief cease-fire is officially at an end thanks to a series of recent court rulings.
Trouble on the Land
In May, Jenelle’s kids were removed from her home and placed with relatives after David shot and killed the family dog, prompting a CPS investigation.
A Second Chance For Ensley
Two-year-old Ensley Eason was placed with Babs, and while one might think Jenelle would prefer that to seeing her daughter placed with strangers in a foster home, she’s apparently outraged by the arrangement.
The Jace Case
Babs has been caring for Jenelle’s eldest son Jace since the boy was in his infancy. One might think that would be enough to convince Jenelle that the woman is capable of caring for a child, but apparently it’s not.
Courthouse Clash
Jenelle and Barbara have already exchanged heated words in the courthouse parking lot, and now, Jenelle is ramping up her attack against her mother.

Barbara has posted multiple photos of Colin spending time with Jenelle’s kids — and according to TMZ, both Jenelle and David are VERY pissed off about it.
An Immediate Threat?
Sources say Jenelle and David are planning to argue in court that Colin is mentally unstable and a threat to their children’s safety. And for once, they actually have evidence to support their argument.
Erratic Behavior
Like Jenelle, Colin has had numerous brushes with the law. He’s been diagnosed with a mental illness, though the exact nature of his affliction remains unknown. Colin has been involved in at least 8 911 calls so far this year, but it appears most of them were placed by him.
All Relative
Of course, Jenelle and David have been involved in 25 (!!!) 911 calls in the past year, and at one point they were visited by the Secret Service due to allegations that Eason had made terroristic threats online,
The Endgame
So it’s not really clear what Jenelle and David are hoping to accomplish here. Sure, they might succeed in convincing a judge that Colin presents a threat to their kids’ safety.
To What End?
But it seems unlikely that that will result in Ensley being placed back in Jenelle and David’s care.
Sad Situation Gets Sadder
If anything, pursuing this strategy will likely result in Ensley being placed in a foster home — but it doesn’t appear as though that possibility will deter Jenelle and David.
Going Nuclear
In addition to their anti-Colin strategy, Jenelle and David have reportedly dug up some dirt on a government worker who’s involved in the case.
A Curious Tactic
It remains to be seen how they’ll use this information to their advantage, but we wouldn’t put it past them to try and blackmail the worker into taking their side during this week’s hearing.

It’s anyone’s guess what he’ll say on the stand, but those who have been watching the case closely believe he’ll lash out at his children’s current caretakers.

David may even go on the offensive against his 11-year-old daughter, Maryssa Eason, who has reportedly supplied damaging testimony against him in recent weeks.

Insiders say Maryssa has refused to see her father during recent scheduled visits, a fact that reportedly has David outraged.

At this point, it looks as though the Easons are willing to say and do whatever it takes in order to win this legal battle.
