Katy Perry is NOT engaged to John Mayer, despite photos of her flashing a new ring on her left ring finger after a Valentine’s Day dinner with her on-again beau.
“[They’re] not engaged,” a source told People.
Let us be the first to offer a giant “phew.”
The gold ring was a Valentine’s gift for Katy Perry, and it features a heart-shaped ruby designed by Daniel Gibbings, a jeweler from her native Santa Barbara, Calif.
While John did not pop the question to Katy, a rep for the jeweler said the 35-year-old singer was “really super nice” while picking out the ring for his love.
Mayer and pop star Perry, 27, first stepped out as a couple last summer and recently attended President Barack Obama’s second inauguration together.
They may not be engaged, but clearly it’s serious.
