There's no love lost between some castmates. Cynthia Bailey was recorded badmouthing NeNe Leakes in the worst way.
Now, NeNe is casting doubt on whethere she'll stick with the show. With so many enemies, who could blame her for quitting?
Will Season 12 be NeNe Leakes' finaly season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta?
Just days ago, she answered that very question while speaking to HollywoodLife.
"I don’t know…I really don’t know that," NeNe candidly confessed.
That may be worrisome news coming from one of the franchise's biggest stars.
She does say that it's not so unusual to be uncertain about the next season.
"I never really know what I’m doing until the season is over and we talk about it," NeNe explains.
That said, it becomes clear that there are issues making her unhappy.
She expresses: "I just think there’s a lot of things that aren’t fair."
NeNe is making $2,850,000 this season, according to reports. So we have to assume that she doesn't feel like she's being shortchanged.
"Just things that -- Behind the scenes things that you guys don’t get to see," NeNe vaguely explains.
That could be all sorts of things, from treatment by producers to hiring decisions to ... almost anything else.
“So I just have to talk with my team and decide what’s best for me," she adds.
One obvious point of contention came up -- the return of Kenya Moore.
Remember, Kenya's mere existence at a party was enough to sour NeNe's friendship with Cynthia.
"No, [Kenya’s return] didn’t frustrate me,” NeNe insisted.
In the past, she has stated that she welcomed Kenya's return because it was good for the show.
Apparently Kenya Moore is not living rent-free in her head, despite what fans might believe or assume.
“I don’t care to think about Kenya," NeNe said.
"I’m a pretty strong girl," she noted.
NeNe then assessed: "And Kenya honestly cannot handle me."
To be fair, who can handle NeNe Leakes?
On a more positive note, NeNe shared her opinion that this "season is going really good."
She explained that she's enjoying it because "I see kind of that they’re starting to show a little bit of these other girls’ personalities."
"Because I have felt like over the years," NeNe opined, "a lot of girls have gotten passes for whatever reason."
"Maybe there just wasn’t a character they didn’t want the viewers to see," NeNe reflected.
"But this year," she assessed, "I feel like they are showing these girls a little bit more true to who they are on the show."
In other words, it sounds like NeNe is pleased that fans are seeing more well-rounded and messy glimpses at the other stars.
NeNe feels that fans have always seen many facets of her, and that it's time for the other ladies to step up.
Our guess is that NeNe's answer about being uncertain about the future was mostly just her being honest.
However, it may be that she saw how Vicki Gunvalson played hardball and got invited back as a full castmember this year.
Maybe NeNe is casting doubt because she wants yet another massive raise?
