Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and baby Archie are in the United States at the moment.
While the agenda for their excursion is being kept under wraps, it looks as though the young family will remain in America for the remainder of the year.
The trip is much more low-key than most royal jaunts, which is why it’s so ironic that a prominent Buckingham Palace insider has chosen this week to slam Meghan for being fame-hungry.
Stefanie Powers is an actress who’s known for two things — the 1980s TV series Hart to Hart, and her lifelong friendship with Prince Charles.
But it looks like she can officially add another line to her resume, as Powers has now made a name for herself as the latest in a never-ending parade of Meghan Markle haters.
In a new interview with the Daily Beast, Powers claimed that Meghan has upset the "royal dynamic" by focusing on "being a star," rather than devoting her full attention to being Harry’s docile domestic partner.
Powers accused Meghan of behaving as though she’s the star of a show entitled “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: The Adventures of Meghan in the Palace.”
A Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous burn? Jeez, Stef never really moved on from the world of ’80s television, did she?
Powers argued that Meghan “wants to be a star, which, I’m sorry, is not what she is supposed to be doing.”
“Meghan’s role is not about being a star. It’s her job to be Harry’s wife, not change the royal dynamic," Stefanie said.
From there, Powers delivered another low blow by dissing Meghan’s acting skills — or lack thereof.
She stated that the “Hollywood royalty marrying British royalty” narratives in the British press are "absurd."
“She had a role in a TV show,” Powers said.
“Please, she’s obviously not a great actress. She’s not gotten into the role she has taken on.”
The one point we’ll begrudgingly concede is that many Brits seem to be under the impression that Meghan was a Very Famous Actress in the US prior to her engagement to Harry, when in reality, very few Americans knew her name.
At this point in the interview, Stefanie really goes fully off the rails by comparing Harry to Prince Andrew.
In case you haven’t heard, Andrew was a friend of the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, and his efforts to convince the world that he’s not a predator himself have been embarrassingly clumsy.
“Prince Andrew is stupid. Both him and Harry have making fools of themselves in common,” Powers said.
“Britain is outstanding because of the royal family, and when a member of it misbehaves they shorten its viability."
In other Meghan in Harry news, it’s been confirmed that the couple will not be participating in this year’s Christmas festivities at Buckingham Palace.
"As the couple made clear a few weeks ago, they are taking some time away together as a family," said one insider.
"This means that they will miss Christmas events."
The source stresses that there’s no "snub" involved, but we’re not so sure.
After all, family "friends" life Stefanie would make anyone want to skip the holidays.
