Well, it finally happened.
After months of legal wrangling and hand-wringing, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice was shipped off to Italy last week.
As fans of the Bravo franchise know, Giudice had been facing deportation ever since his release from federal prison earlier this year.
Joe will continue to appeal the court's decision, but he will now do so from overseas, not from ICE custody in the United States.
And while insiders say he's relieved to be free from the ICE detention center where he's spent the past seven months, the giddy joy of freedom is likely to be short-lived.
From the start, Joe's wife, Teresa Giudice, has said she will not move to Italy if her husband is deported.
In fact, insiders claim that Teresa has initiated divorce proceedings and is already dating someone new.
That means, of course, that Joe is essentially on his own in Italy, a land where he doesn't speak the language and has no close family or friends.
But Teresa isn't completely abandoning the father of her four children.
No, according to a new report from Radar Online, she'll soon make a trip across the pond to spend some quality time with her estranged husband.
But only because Bravo is paying her big bucks to shoot some scenes with her soon-to-be-ex.
“Teresa is getting a huge paycheck to take the girls to Italy and film the reunion with Joe,” one insider tells the site
“She’s going the first week in November with the girls, and the RHONJ cameras too."
And just how much will Teresa be paid for deigning to spend time with her embattled husband?
Well, the exact figure is unknown.
Apparently, however, this special episode will earn Teresa almost as miuch as she usually gets paid for an entire seaon of RHONJ.
“Teresa is getting around six figures to film these extra scenes with Joe in Italy," says the source.
The show wrapped production on its upcoming season several weeks ago, but the crew headed back to the Garden State in order to capture the fallout from Joe's deportation.
“We’re filming right now about it,” says Teresa's brother Joe Gorga.
In addition to the drama surrounding Joe and Teresa's dissolving marriage, it seems there's plenty of tension between Teresa and her in-laws these days.
The beef stems not only from how quickly Teresa moved on, but also from the fact that she refused to attend Joe's final court hearings.
“Joe’s family is disgusted with Teresa," says one insider.
They don’t even talk to her anymore and they can’t believe she didn’t go to see him after the trauma of the last few months.”
Fortunately, Joe is not entirely without support, and his mother has made the trip across the pond to help ease his transition:
“He will be heading to Naples shortly, where there is a house waiting for him," says the source.
"His mother has been fixing up a house for him in preparation for his arrival,”
For Joe, the situation is obviously less than ideal - but for those who love intense RHONJ drama, this is a dream come true!
