As it turns out, Teresa Giudice does have a heart after all.
And she just put it on full display for the world to see.
Or, to be far more specific in this case, for one judge in particular to see.
Previously, with husband Joe Giudice facing deportation — because he’s a non-U.S. citizen who committed a felony — Teresa had come across as very cold and calculating, casually admitting to Andy Cohen that she would file for divorce as soon as Joe was sent back to Italy.
“I know exactly what happens — I’m sure he’ll be with other women. It happens,” Teresa said in early March, looking ahead to a future of her in America and Joe abroad.
She added in this interview:
“You do the long-distance thing, it’s not going to work. I’d be like, ‘Bye bye.’”
So much for her husband of two decades and the father of her four kids, huh?
Now, however, Giudice is sounding a far more vulnerable and sensitive tune.
According to documents obtained by Radar Online, Teresa and her four kids have sent a heartfelt message to the court in a last ditch attempt to keep Joe around.
With his deportation recently delayed, there remains a window for a judge to reverse court and overturn the earlier decree that Joe must return permanently to his native country.
“Judge Ellington, my daughters need their father. They cry for him every day … I cannot bear the thought of my daughters losing their father,” Teresa writes in this message.
She continues:
“I am fearful that it will break them and that I alone will not be able to fix them. Judge Ellington, this is my greatest fear and it keeps me up at night.
“The fear that if I lose my husband, I will also lose my children, as they will never be the same.”
Teresa and Joe both pleaded guilty to bankruptcy fraud in 2016 and both have served time behind bars.
They seem like pretty terrible, entitled, spoiled individuals — but they are also parents to a quartet of relatively young daughters:
Gia, 18, Gabriella, 14, Milania, 13, and Audriana, 9.
Our heart does break imagining these girls growing up without their dad around.
Teresa, who really has sounded like she doesn’t care personally about the future of her marriage, also shared her own feelings for Joe in this letter.
“My husband is the true love of my life and the most amazing father that I could ask God for our daughters,” she writes, adding:
“I cannot imagine life without him. He is our everything and we desperately need him.”
The family has not seen Joe since his release from prison on March 14, when he was taken directly into custody by ICE.
Gia has actually started a petition in the hopes that President Trump might get involved and save her father, and she also addressed the same judge in her own letter late this week.
“There have been so many things that my dad has missed … It affects us all. I am asking you from the bottom of my heart to please keep our father with us,” says the 18-year old.
Fro their part, Milania, Gabriella and Audriana (via Gia) also wrote letters, with Milania calling Joe her “best friend” and Gabriella saying she “would be swallowed into darkness” without her parent by her side.
The 46-year-old businessman’s deportation was placed on hold by a federal judge a few days ago following his second appeal filing.
According to court documents, Joe will stay in the United States until the court has a chance to review his case.
The assumption for awhile now has been that Teresa is all ready to file for divorce, but we’ll need to wait and see if these emotional pleas make any difference in the long run.
