Fans may correctly applaud Kourtney Kardashian's firm stance against child abuse, but that's not quite the same thing as respecting her as a person.
It turns out that some fans either don't think that Kourt can read, or don't think that she has the mental wherewithal to read an entire book.
Kourtney found an effective way to remind trolls that they're full of hot air.
"Diffusing has become a part of my daily wellness routine," Kourtney Kardashian begins her caption.
As you may have already guessed, this is a plug for a Poosh product.
She writes: "which is why I am very happy to announce our latest collab, the saje x @poosh Positively Poosh diffuser and essential oil kit."
"I designed this diffuser to look like decor, not a tech gadget," Kourt reveals. "So it will suit anyone’s home."
"The custom essential oil scent we formulated is clean and uplifting," she adds. "With notes of rose, lavender, and grapefruit."
Okay, I'm very leery of essential oil stuff (and it will make your pets sick if you have them), but grapefruit does sound amazing.
However, some took issue with Kourtney's appearance in the photo -- and it wasn't just that she was wearing a shirt in the bathtub.
She had a book open for what was obviously a staged photo.
Some of her followers thought that it was a bunch of nonsens eand said as much.
"You know damn well you ain’t reading no book," confronted one fan.
"Emma by Jane Austen," Kourntey replied, adding: "I try to read every night."
Sure ... but was she reading during the photoshoot?
Other comments were much nastier.
"Never read a book," claimed one follower. That's one hell of an assertion to make without evidence.
Copying the troll's terse comment, Kourtney wrote an equally brief response: "graduated college."
That is true! Long before Kylie was getting knocked up at 19, Kourtney received a university education.
She graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Spanish.
To be clear, everyone knows that Kourtney can read.
Probably the best predictor in the world of literacy is someone's economic background.
Kourtney grew up in an extremely wealthy family.
She had loving parents who, thanks to their wealth, had plenty of time to spend with her and her siblings.
So of course she can read. What people were questioning is whether she makes use of that as an adult.
It's no secret that it's harder to make time to read books as an adult, no matter how much you love it.
People can multitask while streaming shows or even while playing video games. Less so with the latter, but still.
Reading a book? Unless you're using the restroom or simply waiting for something, you have to veote a block of time solely to reading.
Even the fastest readers find it harder to make time as an adult than they did as children.
But there's something that you have to remember about Kourtney: this girl has time.
Is she a businesswoman, a model, a mother of three, and a reality star? Yes.
But when Scott has the kids, when she doesn't have a photoshoot or a Poosh event, when Keeping Up With The Kardashians is on hiatus ... she has time.
And, as she stated, she tries to make time to read every night before bed.
Some people are always looking for someone to bully. With Kourtney, they clearly missed their mark.
