The Kardashians are weird.
We know it, you know it, everybody knows it.
But sometimes, every once in a while, they cross a line.
And it seems like with this photo from the family Christmas party that Kourtney shared on her Instagram page, she’s done that in a very big way.

After all, for this family, attention pretty much equals money, so they’re going to do what they can to get us talking, you know?

It makes sense that they want eyes on them at all times — that’s their livelihood, after all — but sometimes, things just go too far.

And more than once, they’ve crossed a particularly creepy line.

A good example of the kind of thing we’re talking about happened a few years ago, when Rob shared a photo of Khloe and called her his #WCW, which, if you don’t hang out on social media, stands for “Woman Crush Wednesday.”

So that was Rob essentially saying he had a crush on his sister, and when Khloe responded with “incest is best,” it didn’t really help things.
But Why?
Another uncomfortable moment happened on an episode of one of the family’s shows when Kourtney and Kim drank a bunch of pineapple juice because they heard it made their genitals smell good. After a while of that, they wiped towels and their crotches and had Khloe smell them to see whose vagina smelled better.
The Reason?
“Do I want to be the judge of the pineapple pussy? Not really,” Khloe explained. “But we’re sisters. If I can’t smell their pussies, what else am I supposed to do?”
The Winner
(Kim won the contest because while Kourtney’s junk smelled “like a tropical island,” hers was more like a flower, which apparently Khloe preferred.)

Yeah, so you get the kind of specific weirdness we’re talking about here?

Because there’s a long, sordid history of this kind of bizarre behavior.

As you can see, Kourtney is pretending to choke Kendall, but in a sexy way, judging by her expression, while Kendall grabs her hip. Both sisters have a hand on Kourtney’s chest.
TOO FAR
And for many of the people who commented on the photo, it was just not OK.
The Real Questions
“Are ‘sisters’ supposed to be this touchy-feely?” one person asked. “I wouldn’t want my sisters hands on my ‘breast’??”
Gross
“I don’t understand the groping between sisters. Gross,” another person wrote.
Disgusting
Lots of people called the photo “disgusting,” and plenty thought it was “incestous.”
The True Meaning of Christmas
As one of Kourtney’s followers commented, “You got to love a bit of incest at Christmas.”
Wow
“Yukkkkk, why would you touch your sisters boobs,” yet another concerned citizen wrote. “F-cking perverts.”
The Outrage!
Another comment read “This is disgusting, the love of sisters supposed to be pure. This is the type of message you send out to the world … and even worse, this is the source of your money. I hope it doesn’t lower your luxury soul.”

But, as others pointed out, a lot of ladies take photos like this with other ladies they’re platonically close too — sisters, friends, whatever.

After all, a boob grab doesn’t always have to be sexual, and some people just like taking silly photos like these.

And if you have trouble believing that, then just consider that the alternative is that there really is a sexual relationship between Kourtney, Khloe, and Kendall.
