At this point, Meghan Markle is certainly no stranger to high expectations.
Virtually overnight, she went from supporting cast member on a basic cable legal drama to one of the most famous women in the world, and we’re sure nothing could have prepared her for that culture shock.

Though her megawatt smile seldom left her face, the transition from Rachel Zane to Duchess of Sussex surely could not have been an easy one, particularly since, as the first woman of color to become a member of the British Royal Family, Meghan serves as a representative for millions of marginalized people on the world stage.
Needless to say, it’s a lot.
And the bullying she’s endured by some of the more nefarious members of the British tabloid press certainly hasn’t made things any easier.
Every member of the royal family is subject to intense scrutiny, but no one has had their every move picked apart quite like Meghan, who’s been vilified for everything from her attire to her failure to curtsy properly.

Many had hoped that the Meghan might enjoy a brief respite from her fishbowl existence after welcoming baby Archie into the word, but alas, that hasn’t proven to be the case.
In fact, Meg is currently in the midst of one of her most ridiculous "scandals" to date, as she and Prince Harry are currently being castigated for taking a private jet on their latest vacation.
Fortunately, many of the Duchess’ famous friends and well-wishers have come to her defense and are calling this faux-conservationist hand-wringing out for what it really is — thinly-veiled racism.
"I’m happy to see people coming to the defense of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex," singer Pink tweeted on Tuesday.
"The way people treat her is the most public form of bullying I have seen in a while. It’s out of control."
She’s not wrong.
Many other celebs are also publicly calling out the British press for its incessant condemnation of Meghan, including Elton John, whose villa in the South of France served as one of the stops on the Sussexes brief vacay:
"I highly respect and applaud both Harry and Meghan’s commitment to charity and I’m calling on the press to cease these relentless and untrue assassinations on their character that are spuriously crafted on an almost daily basis," he tweeted.

Also in Meghan’s corner is Ellen DeGeneres, who defended Meg and Harry in a lengthy social media post:
"Portia and I met Prince Harry and Meghan in England to talk about their work on wildlife conservation," she wrote.
"They were the most down-to-earth, compassionate people. Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you’re trying to do is make the world better."
We guess that’s something for the Piers Morgans of the world to keep in mind next time they feel the need to senselessly denigrate Meghan — public figures whose opinions are actually respected will continue to have her back.
