Derick Dillard: Is He Addicted to Porn?!

by at .

So, Derick Dillard ...

Super gross guy, right?

He's a great big bigot, he refuses to stop running his mouth about his backwards ideals, and it's really just not a great situation, his whole being.

That's why it was so tough for us when he wrote and published a post on his family blog titled "Hot Love: How to Love Your Wife Like You Mean It."

We just didn't deserve to be subjected to that.

But for whatever reason -- he claimed that a lot of people had been asking him to write about his sex life, which is pretty hard to believe -- he decided to put all that out into the world, so what else could we do but take it all in?

The post was long, and there was a lot of weird stuff in it.

For one, he told readers that married couples need to be having sex "5-6 times (or more) a week," and even then that that was simply "a good start."

The implication, of course, being that that's how much he and Jill have sex, more than five or six times a week.

One, literally no one needs to know that, and two, seriously, they have two toddlers, Derick is in law school, and that's really the schedule?

The Dillards' New House

Some people believed that Derick was lying because if they were having sex that much, then surely they would have more than two children, but then he dropped the bomb that Jill's probably on birth control.

So many things being revealed with this, huh?

Most of his post was nothing we haven't heard before -- don't masturbate, don't be alone in a room with someone of the opposite sex, that kind of thing.

But then he said something else that got our interest, something that we'll be discussing in more detail today.

Here it is:

"It is really important to both of us that we have some kind of internet filtering service on our phones and laptops, so we decided to pay for a monthly Covenant Eyes filtering subscription and also limit some accessibility on our devices to help us be accountable to each other."

It's interesting that he named the service they use, because that way we can go investigate exactly what it is they're using.

And guys ... it's a real weird service.

Derick on the Job

As he said, it's called Covenant Eyes, and basically you pay pay $15.99 to give the app access to your device.

It takes random screenshots of your activity throughout the day and it it notices any explicit images, it rates how naughty they are, censors them, and sends them to your "ally," a person you've selected to get this information.

Your ally also gets a report of any attempt you've made to keep any porn viewing private.

Just scrolling through the site's homepage, you see things like "Covenant Eyes can help you quit porn for good" and "Beat Porn. Together."

The way Derick phrased it over on his blog, it sounded like a basic filtering app, but it's definitely heavily focused on porn.

And if they pay $15.99 a month for the family plan of the service that describes itself as being "everything you need to live porn-free" ...

Who has the porn problem?

It could be Jill, of course, but who's the safe bet here?
