Kate Gosselin has been divorced now for a decade.
In the time since she split from ex-husband Jon, the polarizing reality star has trashed the father of her eight kids on multiple occasions.
So you'd think there'd be nothing left to say about this famous break-up, which sort of played out on national television back when Jon and Kate were arguing every other week on Jon and Kate Plus 8.
And yet, in a scene from tonight's Kate Plus Date (which is an actual show that actually airs on TLC for some reason), Gosselin drudges up the past once again.
But she doesn't hurl Jon as far under a bus as possible in this instance.
Instead, she talks very mysteriously about the split and how there's all this stuff out there she can't discuss ... despite how negatively it impacts her life on a daily basis.
“I know that there’s this part of my life that I’m unable to talk about,” Kate tells a matchmaker on her dating program, adding:
“A) obviously I’m divorced, and B) it hasn’t been pleasant. There’s just so much surrounding that that I’m unable - and, for my kids’ sake, unwilling - to talk about.”
This actually could explain a lot.
Over the past several months, Jon has actually been the one trashing Kate at every opportunity.
He has temporary custody of son Collin and daughter Hannah spends a lot of time at her dad's house these days and Kate has remained unusually quiet about the entire thing.
We've commented on this numerous times.
And now Kate has us wondering whether there really is a reason (legal or otherwise) behind her silence.
In this same scene from this same episode, Kate does what she often does best: Whine about her life and situation.
“You aren’t aware, nobody is aware, of really what my life entails,” she says on camera. “It scares a lot of people. A lot of babysitters, a lot of relatives, literally have walked away because it’s too much pressure.”
To be clear, Gosselin has eight kids.
We're sure her life is very stressful.
But she's always talked this way and it's always been a major turn-off.
In an interview with producers, daughter Mady says her mom has developed “trust issues.”
“Everything that she’s been through has really created a lot of trust issues,” the 18-year says, adding:
“But she is doing this [show] and she wants to be happy and that comes with some sacrifices. Like, if she has to suck it up and get started before she feels comfortable, she’s going to have to do it.”
Kate adds that she has not been in love since Jon -- and that her experience with her former husband has had a major impact on her life overall.
My view of people has changed,” she explains.
“Not love, because I know my grandparents’ love exists. It existed once and it can exist again. That’s the only example I can give you that I experienced personally, but I think very much my view of people changed.
"It really probably was the heart of my trust issues in terms of, ‘Are you just telling me that because I want to hear it, or is that who you are?’"
