Arie Luyendyk Jr. has stood up for wife Lauren Burnham.
In fact, when you stop to think about it, Arie Luyendyk Jr. has stood up for all women and parents around the world.
Late last month, the former Bachelor lead and his relatively new wife welcomed their first child into the world.
"We have a healthy, BEAUTIFUL baby girl," Luyendyk wrote on his Instagram Story on May 29 after a long night spent at the hospital, adding at the time:
"Mommy and baby are doing great, we are so incredibly happy."
We then learnde the child’a name is Alessi Ren Luyendyk and, well, she’s pretty darn adorable.
Here. See for yourself:
Fast forward a week and Burnham finally got out of the house
On Thursday, she shared a snapshot of herself and her sister and wrote as a caption to the image:
“First time out of the house without Alessi and I only cried one time. I’d say it’s a win."
Most remarks in response to this rather simple message were positive and supportive of the new mom for getting a break finally — but not all of them.
Because people suck and don’t mind their own business and exist online to be judgmental, one person who represented the critics commented as follows:
“I didn’t leave my kids until they were two."
This individual could very easily be judged and shamed right back, but Arie took a somewhat higher road in the way he replied.
“To all the negative comments regarding leaving her with grandma for a 45min lunch, cut her some slack!” he commented on the post.
And he wasn’t finished, either.
“It was my idea because she has been working so hard to keep up and quite frankly I commend her for 1. Being an incredible mom and getting the breast feeding down enough to make sure she had enough while she was at lunch. (Moms know that breastfeeding can be difficult),” he continued.
"And 2. So much of being a good parent is making sure you take care of yourself.”
We haven’t always been huge fans of Arie.
The way he dumped Becca Kufrin on national television was appalling.
But he’s doing the absolute right thing here in sticking up for his wife and in clapping back against ignorant trolls.
“She wanted a healthy meal with her sister who is in town," Arie concluded in his response.
"I get so frustrated at the comments because she is such a kind soul and takes these comments to heart. Be kind people! You’re doing great momma."
