On Monday, beloved actor Luke Perry passed away.
Fans, friends, and castmates are all mourning him, with many posting tributes of their memories of him.
Now, Luke's 21-year-old son has opened up about losing his father.
On Wednesday, Jack Perry honored his late father in a heartfelt Instagram post.
"He was a lot of things to a lot of people," Jack's post begins.
Luke was a friend, an inspiration, a crush, a talented colleague, and no shortage of beloved characters.
"To me," Jack notes. "He was always Dad."
Jack's caption is accompanied by a throwback photo of him with his father, many years ago.
Jack, who works as a wrestler under the stage name of Jungle Boy, praises his late father.
"He loved and supported me in everything," Jack affirms.
That is a huge part of what every child wants from a parent, particularly as an adult.
"And," Jack notes. "Inspired me to be the best that I could possibly be."
That is heartwarming -- and also no surprise.
As these tributes so often do, Jack's caption slips into the second person as he addresses Luke Perry.
"I’ve learned so much from you," he gushes.
"And," Jack admits. "My heart is broken."
Jack is in mourning and cannot help "thinking about everything you won’t be here for."
"I’ll miss you every day that I walk this earth," Jack writes.
He vows: "I’ll do whatever I can to carry on your legacy."
"And," Jack emphasizes, he will do whatever he can to "make you proud."
"I love you Dad," he concludes.
That is so heartfelt and so powerful.
Jack, like his sister, was by his father's side as he died on Monday, as confirmed in a statement released by Luke's rep.
"Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke,” the statement began.
“He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp,," the statement listed.
It continued: "mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends."
"The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world," the statement affirmed.
The text concluded: "And respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time."
Reports say that, following the massive stroke that Luke Perry suffered last week, he simply never recovered.
This came as a shock, both because it was so sudden and because he was only 52 years old.
Riverdale wisely halted production so that cast members can grieve thier co-star.
Like played Fred Andrews, one of the very short list of good parents on the hit drama series.
People who've worked with Luke, whether for months or for decades, are devastated.
Our hearts continue to go out to those who knew him best and loved him most as they grapple with this terrible tragedy.
Luke Perry was a good person. The world has been robbed.
