Miley Cyrus would really like to enjoy her newfound newlywed status in relative peace and quiet.

But the stupid Internet won’t allow her to do so.

The singer and Liam Hemsworth got married in late December after 10 years of dating.

The stars surprised fans by holding a mostly secret ceremony at their home in Tennessee, inviting only close friends and family members to witness their vow exchange.

How great, right?

How exciting!

What a great reason to celebrate!

Yes, yes and yes. Absolutely.

But a handful of social media users out there have been speculating that Miley and Liam finally tied the knot because the artist is pregnant — which is hilarious because, as mentioned above, they’ve been together for a frickin decade!

Still. The pregnant rumor exists.

And Cyrus has clearly heard about it and read about it and now has response to it.

“I’m not ‘egg-expecting’ but it’s ‘egg-celent’ to hear everyone is so ‘happy for us’… we’re happy for us too!” Cyrus tweeted in response to the chatter, poking fun here at the world record egg that surpassed Kylie Jenner‘s first snapshot of daughter Stormi as the most-liked Instagram of all time.

Cyrus concluded in her clap back:

Egg-cited’ for this next chapter in our lives… Now, can everyone leave me alone and go back to staring at an egg.

Pretty well and hilariously said, right?

We have heard that Cyrus and Hemsworth may have gotten hitched because they want to start a family in the near future, but that’s very different than implying this was a shotgun marriage.

We’re pretty certain it’s the exact opposite of that, considering the amount of time Cyrus and Hemsworth have been engaged and how many erroneous reports stated previously that they had already become husband and wife.

Neither has said much about their December 23rd wedding, except for Liam sharing a photo from it on Instagram and simply writing "My love" as a reference to his now-wife.

For someone who went through a phase of needing so much attention years ago that she basically f-cked a foam finger on stage, Cyrus has made a point to keep her love life relatively private.

She certainly didn’t sell any wedding photos to any tabloids, or make a huge public spectacle about the big day in general.

She simply let some friends share some photos online and then moved on, happy in her union.

And here’s another thing, people:

You REALLY need to stop wondering if women are pregnant.

This can be insulting at best and horribly insensitive at worst.

For all you know, the woman in question has just gained a little bit of weight and you’re calling attention to her midsection.

Or, for all you know, the woman has been trying to get pregnant, yet has been unable to do so and is feeling really awful about herself as a result.

So let’s all vow to cut out the guessing games and the speculation and to just let someone such as Miley Cyrus live her life until she chooses to make an announcement about her womb — if there is any to make.

Okay? Awesome, thanks.
