To date, no one has taken the virginity of Colton Underwood.

That said, the veteran reality star is ready to take America by storm…

… as the next star of The Bachelor!

On Tuesday morning, the former Bachelorette contestant – who couldn’t quite go all the way with Becca Kufrin – confirmed the long-gestating rumor that has been dividing America for weeks:

He will, indeed, be the next Bachelor on ABC.

"I’m very excited," Underwood told Michael Strahan on Good Morning America, referencing his runs on The Bachelorette and, this summer on Bachelor in Paradise:

"Third time is the charm. That’s what they say, right? That’s what I’m hoping for."

Underwood is an ex-professional football player who has been very open about his virginity and who has a pair of famous ex-girlfriends:

1. Tia Booth, a close friend of Becca and Raven Gates, who Colton sort of dated again for a bit on on Bachelor in Paradise.

2. Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.

Now, however, like all Bachelors before him, Underwood says he’s done playing around and is ready to settle down.

"That’s what I’m looking forward to the most, is getting engaged and then getting married shortly after that," he said.

That’s what Colton is looking forward to the most.

As for what qualities he’s looking for in a partner?

She need not be a sports nut or anything like that. Heck, she can have no interest at all in football for all Underwood cares.

"You just have to be passionate about something," he said on GMA, explaining in further detail:

"Sports was my passion growing up, just because I saw how it transformed my life, but just be passionate about something, have a passion, and be a good person."

Colton also wants his potential wife to keep it real.

Yes, there will be cameras around him at all times and, yes, it takes a period of adjustment when it comes to living life that way.

But Underwood noted in his Strahan interview that it’s vital for suitors to not try and impress him with any sort of phony antics.

“I think that’s one thing that I took pride in on both seasons, being true to who I am,” he said. “I think it took all of that to get to where I am now.”

In closing: We need to talk about that whole virginity thing.

Sean Lowe was also a virgin back when he anchored The Bachelor, but he was a "born again" virgin; Sean had had sex before, but made a decision to save himself for marriage after that.

Lowe went on to meet and marry Catherine Giudici on ABC and he remains one of the most popular selections in show history.

Unlike Lowe, however, Underwood has not withheld his penis from any vaginas due to his religion; he’s simply done so because he’s waiting for it to truly feel right.

And he’s open to having some fun while he waits!

“Being a virgin doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time,” he previously told People Magazine. “It doesn’t mean you can’t be passionate and romantic and sexual still in your relationship.”

Fair enough.

So, you tell us Bachelor Nation, are you excited for Colton Underwood to be the Bachelor?
