Following last week’s brutal Live Playoffs, culling the field from 20 to 12 in a massive musical bloodbath, the survivors returned on Monday.
Who sent a message that they were ready to be named The Voice – and who might be at risk of being the next aspiring singers ousted?!
Sundance Head
Sundance Head sung his heart out to "My Church" by Maren Morris. It was one of the better performances for this Team Blake act. The song choice was perfect to showcase his vocal chops and he proved just why he deserved to be in the competition.
Darby Walker
Darby went with "Ruby Tuesday" by The Rolling Stones. If you’ve been wondering why Darby’s songs always sound the same, you’re not alone. This Team Miley act was given a song way out of her comfort zone and it paid off.
Christian Cuevas
Christian opted to perform "The Scientist" by Coldplay. Yeah, we know. It’s one of those songs that gives you all the feels. Unfortunately, Christian totally destroyed the song and it made us wonder whether he would be leaving the competition. It sucks when one performance can have you eliminated, but it just so happens that might ring true.
Sa’Rayah
Sa’Rayah showed off her vocal prowess with "Livin’ on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. We all knew she was a great singer, but she needed something set herself apart from the other acts and that’s why Alicia decided to change it up for her. For the most part, it paid off. There were some dud notes, but it was not the worst performance of the night.
Billy Gilman
Billy had one of the worst performances of the night, singing "The Show Must Go On" by Queen. It was really all over the place and it made us question just we he made it this far. This is not the same dude we’ve witnessed all these weeks. There was something off about the whole performance.
Austin Allsup
Austin has been going from strength-to-strength and it has been a delight to watch it all play out. He performed "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man" by Aretha Franklin and it was an electrifying performance that showed us why he deserved to be at this stage of the competition.
Wé McDonald
Wé went with "Take Me To Church" by Hozier and it was a decent performance, but it wasn’t without flaws. The singer struggled with the low notes, which was surprising. She’ll need to right the ship if she manages to survive the week.
Aaron Gibson
Aaron went with "Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings" by Father John Misty. It was a surprising, but perfect performance. Everything was right about it and it was pretty great. He’s definitely a front runner to win the whole thing.
Courtney Harrell
Harrell went with "I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith. All the coaches seemed to compliment was what she was wearing. Kind of says it all.
Ali Caldwell
It was "Did I Ever Love You" by Leonard Cohan for Ali and it worked a treat. Unlike some of the other performances, she was on the ball and made sure to cover her bases.
Brendan Fletcher
Brendan was thrown a bone last week, but this week, his rendition of "Whipping Post" by the Allman Brothers Band was just plain dull. The judges seemed to think so, too.
That’s a wrap, you guys! Who do you think will be heading home on Tuesday night’s elimination?
