The first Dancing with the Stars results show of the season is in the books. Which couple was the first to get the boot in Season 23?
Getting down to business on Dancing with the Stars Season 23 Episode 3 ... about 5-6 couples had to be truly sweating this one out.
Former Texas Governor Rick Perry came into the results show as the consensus low scorer and worst dancer, maybe in show history.
He's in on the joke, so we can say that.
He's also safe, after not even ending up in the bottom four! Guess his mission - to raise awareness for veterans - and charisma work!
The final four in jeopardy Tuesday:
Jake T. and Jenna Johnson, Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev, Amber Rose and Maks Chmerkovskiy, and Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke.
All four duos could've been given the boot with little shock in the ballroom, but three survived to dance another day, as we say goodbye to ...
Jake T. Austin and Jenna Johnson.
The Wizards of Waverly Place actor struggled, tying for the second lowest score both this week and last week, only above Rick Perry.
If we're being honest, the results show was kind of a waste.
You can see why Dancing with the Stars went away from this format for the last few seasons, even if it was confusing in some respects.
Booting people off the show after they just danced and did better than expected? Yeah, that was awkward, but this? This is just filler.
The show reviewed each of the couples' first two dances, often with inaudible commentary and spelling errors in the captions. Wow.
On the bright side, we caught up on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce gossip, so that's really the most important takeaway anyway.
There was a memorable exchange in which Ryan Lochte stood beside fellow Olympic champion Laurie Hernandez and waved to the crowd.
Then his medal dropped and fell down the stage stairs.
Hernandez, kindly, offered to share hers; Jana Kramer, meanwhile, expressed concern about the show on behalf of her grandma.
Jana's relative is worried that Tom Bergeron and co-host Erin Andrews don’t like each other, but Tom assured the audience they do.
Phew. We can now get back to our lives.
