Earlier today, we reported that Matt Baier - the fiance of Teen Mom star Amber Portwood - was accused of sexually assaulting an ex-girlfriend in 2014.
Now, Radar Online is reporting that the alleged victim committed suicide not long after the attack, just weeks before Baier started dating Portwood.
Sources say that the accuser - whom Radar has chosen to identify only as "Michelle," out of respect to her family - became even more frightened after the attack, when she discovered that Baier had lied to her about a number of important matters over the course of their relationship.
She immediately severed all communication and filed for a restraining order against the 44-year-old Boston native.
“She did some research on him, and found out a lot of what he told her wasn’t true," says Michelle's mother. "She left, and filed a restraining order to protect herself.”
No criminal charges were filed against Baier, but a judge did grant an order of protection requiring Baier to remain at least 100 yards away from Michelle, her home, and her place of business.
A source close to Baier claims that he complied with the order, saying, “He did not keep in touch with her, and did not know she had passed away."
Less than six months after the alleged assault, Michelle took her own life, leaving behind a young son.
Baier has been caught lying about his past on previous occasions, and he was recently sued for child support by five women who claim he failed to provide financial support for their seven children.
He has thus far declined to comment on today's developments.
