The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 Episode 17 Recap: Broken Records

Did Monday's The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 Episode 17, entitled "Broken Records," break the series record for drama?

Probably not. But it didn't lack for tense moments, either.

Picking up where last week left off, The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 Episode 17, the focus was on - what else - Brooks.

After a visit to the physician with her boyfriend, Vicki tried to put an end to the cancer hoax theory by revealing his medical records to Tamra.

If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online, you know that was an abrupt 180 from the defiance they previously showed,

We first see Brooks, at the doctor's office with Vicki by his side, learning that he has a large mass in his abdomen, specifically his pancreas.

The couple then shows a report of this to Tamra, whom Vicki begs to "be my warrior" in the face of this medical crisis and spread the word.

Tamra agrees, reluctantly, saying that she doesn't really grasp the medical jargon in the documents she's being asked to parse and share.

Still, she discusses the issue at Heather and Terry Dubrow's Home Shopping Network special bash hosted by Meghan King Edmonds.

After a fun on-air prank call to Heather, the women each discuss how Vicki has texted them with the results of Brooks' latest scans.

The implication was clear: Please stop insinuating that Brooks Ayers is faking cancer and making a bad situation even worse for us.

Tamra then passes along what she has learned, but Meghan, who claims to be seeking justice, throws a wrench into Vicki's efforts.

She called the office where Brooks is supposedly getting treated and was told by a secretary that they don't conduct PET or CT scans.

Moreover, she says they don't treat non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which Brooks claims to have, raising more doubts about Brooks than ever.

Vicki and Brooks broke up this summer right before this storyline made it to air, for what it's worth; Brooks insists he does have cancer.

Elsewhere in the O.C. last night ...

  • Heather and Terry's HSN debut was to promote their new line of skincare products, which they've been working on for years;
  • Tamra met with her pastor once again to discuss her upcoming baptism, which will appear on a later episode of Season 10;
  • Tamra's son Ryan Vieth and his wife Sarah's marital issues are taking their toll on the couple, shown fighting constantly;
  • Meghan gives up battling her stepdaughter over rules and school, etc., and by backing off, they're connecting better.
