Mariah Carey recently completed her wildly profitable residency in Las Vegas.
And now she’s headed somewhere even more popular and crazy: Empire!
Honoring Carey during the artist’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Wednesday (how did it take this long for her to earn a spot there?!?), Lee Daniels told the crowd where they can next see the global superstar:
On at least one episode of Empire Season 2.
The series creator didn’t elaborate on Mariah’s upcoming role, but Empire has become famous for employing real-life singers and celebrities as guest stars.
To wit:
- Kelly Rowland will play Lucious’ mom in a flashback on Season 2.
- Chris Rock will guest star, reportedly as a prison inmate.
- Alicia Keys will make an appearance in an unknown capacity.
- The same can be said for Lenny Kravitz (and his penis, we presume).
Empire returns Wednesday, September 23 at 9/8c on Fox.
