There's more to being a beauty queen than beauty. Just kidding, no there isn't.
However, a few beauty queens are focusing on more than the Vaseline on their teeth.
After NBC fired Donald Trump and axed his Miss Universe Organization, Miss USA contestants are pleading for NBC to reverse their decision to pull the plug on the pageant.
But the organizers aren’t alone! They have the help of 51 pageant contestants on their side.
TMZ reported that sources claim the pageant execs have only two weeks to find a new network home for the beauty contest.
The race to find a channel for the show is only exacerbating how p*ssed they are that NBC is punishing them for Donald Trump’s inappropriate comment about Mexican immigrants.
Anyone associated with the pageant is being asked to send emails to NBC CEO Steve Burke.
However, they might be fighting an uphill battle. Trump has a majority stake in the show, and without him, there is no show.
Only Trump can make a deal with a different network. So far, he hasn’t made a move to transition the show elsewhere.
So it looks like the only hope is to beg NBC to pick up the show, and that doesn't look to hopeful at the moment.
Miss USA execs and contestants were shocked by NBC’s decision. Rehearsals for the beauty pageant and fittings are already underway.
One can only imagine what it looked like backstage when the ladies heard they might not have a chance at the crown: spilled glitter, streaked mascara, uneven bronzer, and half-teased hair.
Trump has a different agenda in mind right now. With his 2016 presidential bid in place, he is focusing on an unlikely seat in the Oval Office. He is so serious about becoming president that Trump promised to ditch the comb over if he wins the election.
