Kylie Jenner has by and large ignored Caitlyn Jenner, who debuted to global acclaim this week, choosing instead to hole up with boyfriend Tyga.
The July edition of Vanity Fair hit the Internet June 1, as the former Bruce Jenner appeared as a woman in public glamorously for the first time.
Aside from a few haters, the Caitlyn Jenner Vanity Fair photos by Annie Leibovitz have been incredibly well received and instantly iconic.
They’ve caused such a sensation that they overshadowed Kim Kardashian’s second pregnancy and the daily deluge of racy Kylie Jenner pics.
That’s saying a lot.
But while most of the Kardashians mobbed social media to support Caitlyn (or just ride her coattails), it’s status quo for Kylie Jenner and Tyga.
According to multiple reports, Kylie is not taking Caitlyn Jenner’s transition well, refused to participate in the media frenzy that her dad created.
If she can even still call her that. Is Caitlyn still her father? Does she have two moms? No doubt this must be a lot for young Kylie to handle.
Kylie did re-post Bruce’s VF cover on Instagram with the simple caption, "My Angel on Earth!" Beyond that, though, it’s been radio silence.
She tries to put on a good front, but would just as soon not put on any front or talk about this uncomfortable situation at all, insiders say.
One source claims Kylie is refusing to call Caitlyn by her new, chosen name, and is still calling her “Bruce,” as we’ve known her for 65 years.
“Kylie Jenner has had the most difficult time with this … As such, it’s been very hard for her to stop calling Caitlyn ‘Bruce,’" the source says.
"Even though that person is not around anymore, and [Caitlyn] has tried talking with Kylie, things don’t seem to have changed.”
She is 17, after all.
Tyga may think there’s nothing wrong with sleeping with her six ways from Sunday, but that’s just so young to process such a huge change.
Pretending nothing is happening, or trying to block it out as much as she can, is a pretty understandable defense mechanism in her shoes.
Our guess is she’ll come around and stop calling her Bruce soon enough, but for now, she just needs time with herself and her inner circle.
