How many times have you heard someone wonder why Kim Kardashian is famous?
She can't act, she can't sing, she can pretty much just spread her legs for Ray J on camera.
But Katy Perry begs to differ.
The singer spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the 2015 MET Gala in New York City on Monday night and joked about having the same hairstyle as Kris Jenner.
But she then grew quite serious about the Keeping Up with the Kardashians matriarch.
"Listen, Kris Jenner is very important to me,” said the pop star. “And that is not sarcastic at all. She has a great sense of humor and she’s kind of like the mother of everyone."
Following the inspiring Bruce Jenner interview with Diane Sawyer, Perry then went on to defend the Kardashians against all critics.
Her basic argument?
Hey, if Bruce Jenner's honesty about his sexual identity helps save a single person struggling with this same issue, that makes all other nonsense worthwhile.
"We've all had our own commentary on the Kardashians, but if Kardashians’ hadn’t existed, there wouldn’t have been the fantastic Bruce Jenner, who is just evolving everyone right now with all of his wonderfulness,” Perry said.
"So the Kardashians, in my book, are completely valid."
We're not sure if we want to read that book, Katy, but we do admire Bruce very much as well.
Perry, meanwhile, had a blast at the MET Gala. But Bruce remained on her mind..
"I wish Bruce Jenner was debuting his fabulousness on the carpet at #TheMetBall tonight #itwouldbeeverything!!!" she Tweeted after the event.
