Yesterday, we reported that Johnny Depp had gone missing from the set of Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
Some sources claimed that he was hiding out in NYC, attempting to repair his troubled marriage. Others reported that Depp's drinking had caught up with him and left him unable to show up to set.
Today, Depp returned to Australia (where Pirates 5 is currently filming) from parts unknown. He waved to the Aussie press, but refused to answer questions about where he had been or why he had set back production by disappearing.
To the surprise of many, Amber Heard was by her husband's side at the Sydney airport.
Heard and Depp married in February, and they're reportedly living "separate lives" just two months into their marriage.
Yesterday, People magazine posted and quickly deleted an article that detailed the troubles in Depp and Heard's relationship and cited several sources who claimed that Depp's "hard partying" was taking a serious toll on both his personal and professional lives.
"He didn't seem to care about filming at all and was all about partying," said one source on the Pirates set.
It's previously been reported that Depp's drinking is "driving Heard away."
Clearly, the couple was all smiles in Sydney today, but we may never know for sure if they're legitimately working things out, or if Amber is just standing by her man for now, in order to save him the embarrassment of dropping out of such a high-profile project.
