Dancing with the Stars Results: Whose Disney Dreams Were Dashed?

by at .  Updated at .

Another week on ABC, another shocker in the ballroom ... or not?

Who survived Monday's Dancing with the Stars results show after a tense two hours, and who's still in the hunt for the elusive, coveted, Mirror Ball trophy?

Which contenders are beginning to separate themselves from the pretenders? Which pretenders continue to hang around despite lackluster performances?

Let's recap last night's Dancing with the Stars scores and results ...

While an obvious nod to the network's parent company, Disney Night made for some of the most inventive routines yet, if not necessarily the best.

With Chris Soules wearing a skirt, though? That's worth paying to see.

Not worth paying to see? The way this Disney Night was packaged, presented and broadcast as a bizarre, two-screen Mary Poppins-like experience.

As the competitors paid homage to Disney favorites young and old, the dancers performed on stage whilst animated support "joined them" at home.

A better idea in concept than in reality, we would venture to say.

When all was said and done, it was a mixed bag, with three pairs putting together near-perfect routines, yet five couples falling short of even making it to 30.

Sadly, but predictably, it was time for Suzanne Somers to go.

In a possibly prescient video package, the 68-year-old actress broke down in a rehearsal, telling partner Tony Dovolani: “I don’t think I can stay on the show.”

Rumors of Somers quitting Dancing with the Stars were exaggerated - she ended up powering through and the routine, and doing well - but it was not enough.

The scores from last night's installment were as follows:

  • Rumer Willis & Val Chmerkovsky: 39
  • Nastia Liukin & Derek Hough: 39
  • Riker Lynch & Allison Holker: 38
  • Willow Shields & Mark Ballas: 34
  • Noah Galloway & Sharna Burgess: 28
  • Suzanne Somers & Tony Dovolani: 28
  • Patti LaBelle & Artwm Chigvinstev: 27
  • Chris Soules & Witney Carson: 27
  • Robert Herjavec & Kym Johnson: 24

Tough for Suzanne, besting (albeit narrowly) three fellow competitors, yet having to bid the show farewell with the results based on last week's effort.

Such is reality in the new format, however.

What do you think? Was the right dancer sent home? And who do you want to join the pantheon of these great Dancing with the Stars winners (below)?
