Meghan Trainor is all about the bass, in case you haven't yet heard.
But in a new interview with Seventeen, the Grammy-nominated artist says no one has been all about her bass in a very long time.
"I knew my life would be complicated if my dreams of becoming a success in music came true," Trainor says of how she's been ignoring her personal life in favor of her professional one.
"And I knew I'd have to work hard to achieve those dreams, and that they'd have to take a front seat in my life. So even though I went cray in high school, now I haven't kissed a boy in forever.
"I keep telling myself that the right guy is going to be worth the wait. When I find the one, it's going to be like, ‘Damn, that's why you took so long! 'Cause you're awesome!'"
Many, of course, now find Trainor to be awesome.
So awesome, in fact, that she was up for Record of the Year at the Grammys this year.
It's a position the bubbly blonde never thought she would be in.
Speaking to Seventeen, the 21-year old admits she didn't believe she would ever strike it because because she didn't "look like Rihanna."
But Trainor has received heaps of praise for her "All About That Bass" music video and the compliments are paying dividends.
"Just recently I was thinking, 'I'm confident now, and I look good,'" she says. "And that's because I've started saying those words out loud more. So now when I see pictures, I'm like, 'Oh my God, why would I hate myself at all? I look incredible in that picture!'"
Amen, Meghan! Say it loud and say it proud!
