Kanye West wants celebrity photographer Daniel Ramos to be prohibited from mentioning his antics involving Taylor Swift or Beck in a courtroom setting.

We’re going to guess you can probably imagine why.

An lawyer for ‘Ye wants Kim Kardashian‘s better half protected from Ramos, who’s suing the rapper for assault, bringing up any of his award show stuff.

Ramos claims he was beaten up pretty badly at LAX a few summers ago, and he’s suing for what he claims are substantial injuries incurred at the hands of ‘Ye.

West’s legal team does not want the paparazzo to dredge up 2009 MTV Music Awards, where he famously hijacked Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.

Nor does he want this year’s Grammys – where Kanye went off about Beck after he won – to be part of the case either, saying neither issue has any relevance.

On the contrary, all bringing up these moments accomplishes, the rapper’s team says, is poisoning a jury by making Kanye seem like a bad, volatile guy.

Which he may or may not be. But it has nothing to do with what may or may not have happened with Ramos, he argues, and he may have a valid point.

Kanye’s lawyer admits the videos from the VMAs and Grammys would "cause jurors to form a negative opinion of West," so at least he harbors no delusions.

Ramos’ lawyer Gloria Allred calls it "laughable" that West is apparently "so ashamed of his conduct that he doesn’t want the jury to know what he did."

"Millions watched his conduct. Why does he want to hide it from a jury?" Allred asks, although his attorney seems to have spelled out the valid reason.

West, for what it’s worth, already pleaded no contest to criminal battery and has been placed on probation, which includes anger management courses.

Is it working? Based on many recent instances of a candid, jovial, more chillaxed ‘Ye, it appears to be … then again you never know, as Beck found out.

So many different sides to that guy …
