Amanda Knox, who spent four years in an Italian jail for allegedly murdering a British exchange student in 2007, is now engaged, according to reports.

She was finally acquitted in the death of Meredith Kercher in 2011 and sent home to Seattle, though an Italian court reinstated the Amanda Knox guilty verdict in 2014.

Knox has appealed and will wait to find out her ultimate fate next month. Meanwhile, she just got engaged to … you guessed it … Colin Sutherland!

Colin who? Yeah, we don’t the guy from Adam either.

But Knox has apparently known Sutherland since middle school. She was with Seattle musician James Terrano up until last year when the couple split.

Sutherland moved from Brooklyn to live with Knox in Seattle while she works at becoming a journalist/not imprisoned for life for murder. Now that’s a good boyfriend.

Knox must be doing something right.

It’s hard to figure out fact-from-fiction on her, though. During her interview with Diane Sawyer in 2013, she claimed that her murder confession to Italian authorities was coerced:

"I didn’t confess. I was interrogated. They acted like my answers were wrong. They told me I was wrong, that I didn’t remember correctly."

It’s a classic case of she-said Italy-said.

There are many facts in the case that are up for debate. What isn’t up for debate, is that she was finally acquitted in 2011 and allowed to return home. Since then, she’s had the right to do what she wants with her life.

That has involved writing a memoir, working in a bookstore, becoming a journalist, and dating a few cute musicians. I can’t confirm the journalism or bookstore thing, but the dating thing seems pretty solid, as she’s now set to marry one.

But what happens if she is convicted again? Will she go back to Italy? Will Colin Sutherland once again move there to be with her, like he moved to Seattle?

I mean, he can write music anywhere, right?
