Yesterday, Teresa Giudice reported to prison for her first of roughly 400 days behind bars.
Despite a famously cushy lifestyle on the outside, and reports that Teresa would be "targeted" by other inmates, the disgraced reality star reportedly kept her cool on day one, and if she cried at all, she did it during her rare private moments.
"As Teresa was fingerprinted and had her picture taken for her identification badge and mug shot, the reality set in that this was going to be her life for the next 15 months," a source inside the prison tells Radar Online.
"Nothing could prepare Teresa for that moment until it actually happened. Teresa was extremely professional and didn't cry. She was determined not to look weak in front of anyone."
The insider claims that Teresa had no complaints with the prison's staff, who reportedly treated her with dignity throughout her difficult first day:
"She didn't receive any special treatment but she wasn't singled out because of any celebrity status. She was very grateful for that."
While there's no word yet on whether Joe Giudice will be allowed to visit Teresa (inmates are typically barred from receiving visits from felons), she was reportedly comforted by being permitted to call her children before they went to bed.
