Willow and Jaden Smith have some unconventional views on fame, the American education system, and the life in general.
Unfortunately, they both also have new music out this week, which means we've had to endure several days of listening to them spout their "enlightened" views in a series of increasingly bizarre promotional interviews.
Yes, after years of only expressing themselves in 140 characters or less, the Smith kids are once again making music, and when Jaden's not rapping about Kylie Jenner and cocaine, he's sharing his Lebowski-esque thoughts on how totally bummed out the Pacific is.
Some highlights from the Smith kids' recent sit-down with the New York Times:
Jaden on themes in his music: "The PCH [Pacific Coast Highway] being one of them; the melancholiness of the ocean; the melancholiness of everything else."
Willow on time: "Time for me, I can make it go slow or fast, however I please, and that's how I know it doesn't exist."
Jaden on...apples?: "When you think of an apple, you also think of the opposite of an apple. It's a tool for understanding mathematics and things with two separate realities."
Willow on what she's reading: "Quantum physics. Osho...There're no novels that I like to read, so I write my own novels, and then I read them again, and it's the best thing."
Jaden on education: "You never learn anything in school. Think about how many car accidents happen every day. Driver's ed? What's up?"
It should be noted that the "Osho" to whom Willow is referring is an Indian "sex guru" who's been accused of perpetrating the first bioterrorist attack in the United States.
The Smith kids' devotion to Osho and his teachings has sparked rumors that Willow and Jaden are involved in dangerous cult activities, but hey, they don't have to sit through driver's ed. What's up?
