Sarah Goldberg, an actress who appeared on such TV series as 7th Heaven, 90210 and Judging Amy, has died, according to multiple news reports.
She was just 40 years old at the time of her death.
Her family told the Chicago Sun-Times that she passed away two weeks ago, on September 27, in her sleep of natural causes at their Wisconsin cabin.
The newspaper reported that autopsy results were inconclusive but the family suspects that a heart ailment may have been behind the death of the actress.
No further details were immediately available.
Goldberg started out onstage in her native Chicago before moving to L.A. and landing roles in feature films including Jurassic Park III, Training Day and Virgins.
She recurred on Judging Amy before scoring the role for which she’s best known. Credited as Sarah Danielle Madison, she played Sarah Glass on 7th Heaven.
A medical student and daughter of a rabbi, Sarah marries Christian pastor Matthew Camden (Barry Watson) after the couple's first date in Season 6.
The series ran 11 seasons, the longest in CW history.
Goldberg went on to appear on such series as CSI, In Plain Sight, House M.D., The Beast and Without A Trace before recurring as Colleen Sarkossian on 90210.
It's been quite a week for 7th Heaven cast members, with this tragedy and everything that's going on with Stephen Collins' child molestation scandal.
Our thoughts go out to Sarah's family.
