Actress Renee Zellweger stepped last weekend in Mississippi for the first time since she surprisingly became the center of intense plastic surgery speculation.

The 45-year-old actress made quite an appearance at Elle magazine’s annual Women in Hollywood party the previous week, turning heads on the red carpet.
Not for reasons you might expect. Renee Zellweger’s face has undergone some serious changes, to say the least. You might not even know it was her.
Regardless of why she looks like this now, Zellweger looked more like we envision her while wearing minimal make up on the set of Same Kind of Different as Me.
The star can be seen in workout clothes with her blond locks tied up.
Could it be that the red carpet pics that caused such a stir were just an anomaly, just the product of lighting, makeup and not having seen her in awhile?
"I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life. I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows," Zellweger said in a statement last week.
"My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy," she continued.
"For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself."
"Rather than stopping to recalibrate," Zellweger went on. "I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion.
"I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things."
Renee added that she is "finally growing into" herself and that "people don’t know me in my 40s. People don’t know me (as) healthy for a while, perhaps I look different."
"Who doesn’t as they get older?! Ha. But I am different. I’m happy."
That statement sounds like a whole lot of nothing to us, and when Heidi Montag empathizes with you, that’s never a good sign that things are going well.
Here’s hoping she really is happy, appearances aside.
