Now, for the first time, Anna is speaking publicly about her mother’s baffling decision to welcome McDaniel back into her life, and the many ways in which the relationship has torn her family apart.

“It’s like she’s happy,” Anna says of her mother in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “She’s smiling and giggling when he’s around.”

“He’s a child molester, Mama. He did this to me. Why would you let him come around the girls knowing what he did?”

Anna says that she’s worried about her mother, but her main concern is the safety of her three younger sisters, particularly 9-year-old Alana.

“I worry about them not knowing that he’s been around…The only thing I would say for Alana is if Mama is around him, don’t get too close, don’t get too lovey-dovey on him, because you never know what will happen.”

Anna also addressed the possibility of June Shannon may lose custody of her kids as a result of her relationship with McDaniel:

“I talked to Mama the other day and Mama said, ‘If my kids are taken away, there’s going to be hell to pay.”

“I thought to myself, ‘Mama, you did it to yourself, you brought him around, you let him come around the girls.”
