Robyn Lawley, the 25-year-old brunette beauty and “plus-size” model, is again stirring online debate over what it means to be considered plus-sized.
The 25-year-old brunette beauty caught some positive attention after she opted to post a gorgeous bikini photo of herself (above) without any retouching.
“New sexier cuts coming to #robynlawleyswimwear that still offer the same support #retouchandmakeupfree #ineedatan,” Lawley wrote under the pic.
The photo went viral because of Robyn Lawley‘s embrace of her natural self, but was soon overshadowed (again) by the fact that she’s a plus-size model.
Yes, this model is considered plus-size.
“Plus size?? Are you freakin kidding me??!!” one fan wrote in the comments section. “If this is plus size, then everyone I know is morbidly obese. Wow.”
Another said heaping praise upon the Aussie beauty, “the fact that this is plus sized makes me sick. She is flipping gorgeous, long and lean!”
Another: “You are not plus sized. You are a regular sized individual. No more, no less. It is an insult to people with real weight issues that you title yourself with this. #getreal.”
Lawley, the first plus-size model to appear for Ralph Lauren and other campaigns, using the term to describe herself became a lightning rod for some.
She is also best known for her cover of Vogue Italia‘s June 2011 issue, and is the first plus-size model to be photographed for Australian Vogue.
Does she look plus-sized to you?!
