Sergio Romo, the closer for this year’s World Champion San Francisco Giants, was detained on New Year’s Day after causing a scene at the Las Vegas airport.

Insiders confide to TMZ that problems arose after Romo failed to produce proper identification and could not be cleared by security.

From there, the “angry and aggressive” relief pitcher was cuffed by police after he got into an argument with a TSA agent.

Romo, who was not permitted to board a flight that day, was taken to the police station and released after receiving a citation.
