Sarah Michelle Gellar Speaks on Return to Television
To the excitement of millions of TV fans, Sarah Michelle Gellar makes her return to the small screen this summer.
Years after Buffy the Vampire Slayer went off the air, the actress will anchor Ringer on The CW, a drama that has her portraying the dual roles of twins Bridget and Siobhan. What attracted Gellar to the project?
“Ringer is the perfect balance of what audiences want to see me do. It’s Cruel Intentions meets Buffy," Sarah says in this week's EW.
Gellar has a very good excuse for remaining away for such a long period of time. A very cute excuse, we should say: daughter Charlotte.
“I got to see the first step, hear the first word. Most people - and certainly many working moms - are not lucky enough to get that. I wanted to appreciate the fact that I had worked so hard all my life to be able to have those moments. I don’t regret anything about making that choice.”
It was a noble decision, for sure. But allow us to say this to Charlotte: Thanks for letting your mother back into our lives!

It's a Girl For Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze, Jr.!
Sarah Michelle Prinze and husband Freddie Prinze Jr., who have been married seven years and together more than nine, have just become parents! Hooray!
The couple "welcomed their daughter Charlotte Grace Prinze on Saturday, September 19," says a rep for the actress. "The whole family is over the moon."
This is the first child for the couple, who met way back in 1996 and first revealed that they were expecting back in April. It's joyous news for all involved.
This is surprisingly the couple's first child together!
Freddie Prinze, Jr., will star on the new season of 24. Sarah Michelle recently changed her name from Gellar to Prinze to honor their fifth year of marriage.
Sarah Michelle Gellar & Freddie Prinze Jr: Expecting!
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr., who have been together for so long that we're surprised they didn't have kids before this, are now expecting their first child together, a source close to the couple confirms.
"They're very excited," says the source, adding that the actress, 31, is due in the fall.
Gellar, who has been married to Prinze, 33, for six years, is planning to shoot the HBO pilot The Wonderful Maladays, for which she serves as an executive producer.
Prinze recently shot the comedy pilot No Heroics for ABC.
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar got married in an intimate ceremony back on September 1, 2002, in Mexico. They first met in 1996 on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer but didn't begin dating until January 2000.
Congrats to the happy couple!
Sarah Michelle Gellar is a Sexy Maxim Cover Girl
Remember Sarah Michelle Gellar?
The actress who rose to fame portraying Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been named 2008 Woman of the Year by Maxim. We had no idea that magazine was so prescient.
Then again, the lace bra and fingerless gloves Gellar is sporting below is enough to earn her any honor, really. This publication sure knows how to get the best out of her and Erica Durance.
Sarah Michelle Gellar in a black bra. Rachel Nichols nude. Maxim knows what guys like.
Alec Baldwin is a Bastard, Tyrant, Etc.
Alec Baldwin was a "total bastard" and "tyrant" on the set of The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing, driving co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar and other crew members berserk with his rantings, says a source who worked on the upcoming movie.
"He was always pissed about the schedule of the film, and even once said he was doing it just for the money," said a movie insider. "He kept saying, 'This is the last movie I'll ever make' to everyone when he was stomping around the set."
Our source added that Gellar, whom the source credited as "professional and hard working," called Baldwin a nice guy strictly for the sake of PR.
"She hated that he was always telling the director what to do and calling the shots about everything, and that he was constantly on the phone with his lawyer screaming at the top of his lungs and cursing," the inside source dishes.
Gellar's rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, insists, "It's completely not true. She loves Alec - they stuck together like glue. Sarah Michelle should be Alec's publicist."
A friend of Baldwin told the New York Post the following:
"If he raised his voice, it was over the custody of his daughter, Ireland, because [ex-wife Kim Basinger] has made him insane. She had put unbelievable pressure on him... She's a total [expletive] psychopath. And his daughter means everything to him."
Still, the actor's volcanic temper is legendary. Last April, actress Jan Maxwell quit the off-Broadway play "Entertaining Mr. Sloane," charging that Baldwin's behavior created an unhealthy and oppressive situation on stage and off.
Baldwin's tantrums, which included putting his fist through a wall because the air conditioning wasn't high enough, made her fear for her physical safety, mental health and artistic integrity, she said.
Yikes. Someone could use a little God in their life. Call Stephen Baldwin!
Reviewing Years of Emmy Award Fashion
The Emmy Awards air this Sunday night. But forget whether or not Grey's Anatomy can win Best Drama (it can and should!), we know most people can't wait for Monday morning.
How come? Because that's when they can dissect celebrity fashion from the show, picking apart every dress and tuxedo worn like high school seniors doling out yearbook superlatives.
But why wait? Let's look at three women from the past couple years that would certainly be in the running for Best Dressed ...
Granted, Halle Berry could wear a garbage bag and be responsible for drool on the chin of every male attending the ceremony. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't recognize true beauty when we see it:

At this point, we don't care if Jennifer Aniston is engaged or not. We just want her to keep looking this gorgeous every time she walks down a red carpet:

Sarah Michelle Gellar slayed many vampires during her television days, but she never took home an Emmy. Oh well. At least she wore this dress:
