Nicki Minaj proved, with her raunchy performance at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, that she can be a lady on the streets and a freak on the stage.

She walked the red carpet in an elegant red gown, but oh how quickly things changed. The rapper gave Lil Wayne a lap dance, "High School" style.

Twerking like a woman possessed in her shredded leggings, midriff-baring crop-top, and high heels, she straddled and writhed against Weezy. Hard.

The big finish to Nicki Minaj's explicit twerk fest involved her completely bent over suggestively fanning her fingers between her legs. Check it out:

We haven't seen a "High School" twerking display like this since ... well, the Scripps Ranch twerk team video that got 33 high school kids suspended.

Nicki Minaj is not long for American Idol.

In the least surprising news of the day, an insider tells Us Weekly that the singer will depart this Fox competition immediately following this week's finale.

"It's safe to say she isn't coming back to Idol," the source says, adding that Nicki will start focusing on her next album, touring, and endorsements. "She's okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway."

Randy Jackson has already resigned from Idol and producers are expected to replace the entire panel some time this summer.

Among those reportedly being considered: Harry Connick Jr., Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

Will you miss Nicki Minaj on American Idol?

If the rumors are to believed, Nicki Minaj soon won't have American Idol as a platform with which she can reach young fans.

She'll be off the show almost as soon as Season 12 concludes.

But the eccentric singer does cover the latest issue of Teen Vogue, hoping her past experiences can shape the future of many followers out there.

"Every time my parents fought, my mother would have us move and I would have to go to a new school, which meant I'd have to face the task of making new friends," Nicki said, adding:

"I encountered jealous girls a lot. What it came down to is that the bullies wanted me to bow down to them and I just wouldn't."

On last night's American Idol performance show, Mariah Carey talked a little trash to Nicki Minaj, taunting her for never having a number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100.

And now the pop star has fired back at the legendary diva. HARD.

"Why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter," Minaj Tweeted this afternoon, going on to reference the rumor that Fox was looking to replace Mariah with Jennifer Lopez.

First, the judge donned a VERY low-cut red dress, one that pretty much placed her cleavage in the living rooms of teenagers around America.

Second, she went out of her way to talk down to Mariah Carey while critiquing the performance of Kree Harrison, telling her fellow judge to "simmer down... sir."

Devin Velez was eliminated from American Idol last week.

But the finalist hasn't exactly gone away quietly.

Following his ousting, Velez was asked about judge Nicki Minaj's harsh critique of his Wednesday night group performance, saying she "went crazy" and needed to "calm down" and added:

"She could have been upset because the night before she was wearing the same colored dress as Mariah.'"

Minaj did not take kindly to this biting comment, going off on Devin via Twitter in response.
