Okay, so she may be just as well known for topless photos, pregnancy rumors and allegations of being an anorexic cokehead. But she still has good style!

Lauren Conrad, meanwhile, is best known for being a reality TV star and now a young adult fiction author. But she has quite the fashion following as well.

The supermodel topped her Kate Moss for Topshop dress with a blazer for the opening of the British chain's Manhattan flagship store, while the retired star of The Hills opted for a light gray jacket to cover the printed mini while promoting her new book.

Not to worry, Lauren Conrad lovers. It's just a wig.

But the California blonde nevertheless gave up her signature hairstyle for a long brown bob – albeit only for one day while posing for a magazine.

"I got to wear a brown wig all day," LC Tweeted.

"It [was] fun though ... Kinda like playing dress up."

Not even the unusually rainy June weather on the East Coast could stop the beautiful Lauren Conrad from smiling as she made the talk show rounds this week!

The umbrella-toting author and former star of The Hills stopped by The Early Show and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about her first novel, L.A. Candy.

Of course, she dished a little on the show she used to be on too.

Here she is making a rainy arrival ...

Fans of The Hills wondering why Lauren Conrad didn't say a word when Spencer Pratt called her to apologize on The Hills now have their answer:

She wasn't even on the other line.

Interviewed on The View this morning, LC was asked about the call from Spencer Pratt, in which he said he was sorry for spreading the sex tape rumors about Conrad and asked her to please attend his upcoming wedding to Heidi Montag.

Fake, fake, fake, Lauren Conrad says.

Put on the spot, Conrad hesitated briefly before throwing the show under the bus, but ultimately did so, admitting her contempt for the program that made her a star for the past five seasons, and expressing no regrets about leaving it.

That the show is about as "real" as Heidi Montag's rack is hardly news, but this is the most blatant admission by a cast member yet. Here's the interview, in which Lauren discusses her new novel, L.A. Candy, and Stephanie Pratt's bulimia ...

Unlike her former co-star and friend Heidi Montag, Lauren Conrad won't be going under the knife anytime soon – and it's all in the name of fashion.

"You know what, I prefer a flatter-chested look," Conrad, 23, tells Access Hollywood. "That's just kind of me. I think it's more of a fashion look."

"If you look at a lot of high-fashion models and things like that, they're always you know, a little flatter ... I like the way clothes fit better."

"Big boobs?" LC adds, "No I mean ... that's what wonder bras are for!"

Amen to that, LC. Take that, Heidi.

While The Hills star says she doesn't have any plans for plastic surgery, she would not rule out the possibility of getting Botox in the future.

"I'm 23, I think that I'm good for a little bit," she explained at a release party for her novel L.A. Candy. "But, I don't know, maybe later on."

Despite how well things are going to beau Kyle Howard, Lauren Conrad says she has no plans of settling down and starting a family anytime soon.

"I'm not someone who feels like a pressure to get into that," says LC. "I think that I'm still pretty young and I've got a while to do all I want to do."

"I think that when you have kids, it's all about them," Conrad adds. "So, I think that I need to be selfish for a little bit and do it all about me."

We just hope no more babies get thrown at her.

Last night on The Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien tried to defend his obsessive viewing of The Hills by pawning it off on his wife, and its retired star, Lauren Conrad, talked about some of her previous encounters with fans of the show.

LC, who was there on her L.A. Candy book tour before the conversation turned to more important topics, discussed a time when a crazed fan literally threw a baby at her.

In case you were wondering, babies do not ricochet.

Here's an excerpt of Lauren Conrad's talk with Conan O'Brien - and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David - about that particular fan run-in:

Conan: So she threw her baby at you?
Lauren: But my back was to her, and it ricocheted off of me, and I was like-
Conan: Babies don't ricochet!
Lauren: It did, though!
Conan: I have had two babies. They do not ricochet. They hit and slide.
Lauren: But I was moving. So it ricocheted.
Conan: That's one of the stranger stories I've ever heard.
Larry: I'd like to steal that story for my show!

Breathe, fans. It's not a permanent change.

Never one to shy away from mixing up her style (as we saw with her recent rocker look) The Hills' Lauren Conrad has sported a new hairstyle - and color!

It's just a fun wig, featuring a short new bob that she wore during a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar in West Hollywood on Friday. But still, it's cute, no?

Looking gorgeous as ever, former Hills star Lauren Conrad hosted the launch of her new book L.A. Candy at Thompson Hotel on Wednesday in Beverly Hills.

The retired reality TV star hopes to her her book adapted for the small screen: "It’s one of my hopes," said Conrad, 23, of a televised version of Candy.

"We're going to start working on that when I get back from my book tour."

As much as she complained about being on The Hills towards the end, would Lauren Conrad be open to a return - or field new offers for reality TV forays?

"I asked not to hear them," she said. "I said, 'Don't tell me anything.' So, problem solved, and I got to enjoy time away. But my two months is up now."

She's also not giving up her fashion collection: "I have my line at Kohl's but I'm also working on putting back together my original line," she told E! News.

One thing she won't be doing? Checking out Kristin Cavallari's debut on The Hills. "I probably won't watch it," Conrad said. "I'm not a huge TV person."

Whoever ghosted Lauren Conrad's first novel L.A. Candy, isn't half bad!

At least that's the conclusion of the New York Daily News, which says LC's literary debut "leaves fans something to hold onto beyond memories."

Conrad, seemingly ably assisted by a collaborator, tells the story of Jane Roberts, a young beauty most notable for her sweet nature and innocence.

Sound familiar?

She moves to L.A. with her BFF from kindergarten, gorgeous, smart–mouthed Scarlett. Soon enough, they meet a producer making a new reality show.

The two are perfect for "L.A. Candy"!

'CANDY' GIRL: LC's first novel is ripe with allusions to The Hills.

Note that while Lauren Conrad is an aspiring celebrity fashion designer, Jane's ambition is to be an events planner. In fiction, creativity is everything.

The first night they're miked up and sent into a club, camera crew in tow, they run into a blond "wearing more makeup and hair products than clothing."

Turns out she's wearing a microphone too.

Lauren Conrad raised eyebrows with her appearance at the MTV Movie Awards.

Just how did LC, 23 and known for her natural beauty, come to look like that?

According to People, makeup artist Amy Nadine took The Hills star's look from soft to edgy at the MTV Movie Awards, using Mark cosmetics (which LC endorses) to craft a budget-friendly look that would "really bring out her eyes."

Lauren Conrad's makeover took place in four steps ...

1. Applying Mini Mark-It Stick in Shell over lid and Flip For it Spring Color Kit in Los Angeles on the crease and outer corners.
2. Blending Winkstick Hook-Up Eye Shadow Stick in Demure at brow bone.
3. Lining eyes with On the Edge Hook-Up Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo and sweep on Make It Big Mascara in Raven.
4. Giving lips pop with Dew-Drenched Lip Color in Juicy.
