Mel Gibson is an actor that has pretended to stand by the strict guidelines of Catholicism, only to have been arrested for drunk driving, accused of hatred against Jews, sued for divorce and publicly shamed by knocking up his mistress, Oksana Grigorieva. All in the last two years.

But what else can we say about Gibson and Grigorieva? People asked a few insiders to provide details on the private life of this couple.

"[Oksana] spent the last nine months locked up in a studio," says her mother, Lyudmila Chernukha, who focused on her daughter's collection of new songs, all of which Oksana wrote, arranged and sang herself.

While his girlfriend churns out hopeful hits, Gibson works on movie projects at his Santa Monica office.

Keep smiling, Mel. That should absolve you from all your sins.

After work time is over, the pair hangs out with Grigorieva's son Alexander, 11.  This quasi family sometimes frequents a Russian restaurant in the area.

"It [seems] very important to Oksana that Mel and her son bond," says a source. "Mel is fun to be around and great with kids."

Mel and Oksana rarely have sleepovers, insiders say. They retire to their separate homes so Grigorieva can get her child off to a local school in the mornings.

As for the impending bundle of joy?

"Oksana is a good mother and she'll make a great mother to Mel's child," says a friend. "She's found the greatest thing in life, someone to take care of her and a father to her children."

Hey, did you hear the one about the staunch Catholic that got divorced from his wife and is having a child out of wedlock with his girlfriend?

On a taping of The Tonight Show that will air this evening, the actor confirms that girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva is knocked up.

"I guess I’m 'Octo-Mel,'" said Gibson (who already has seven kids with soon-to-be ex-wife Robyn) in his least funny reference since he called that police officer "sugar tits."

Gibson defended his relationship with Grigorieva, saying he and the singer started dating long after he separated from his wife.

"My wife and I, our marriage ended three years ago and we’ve been separated ever since then," he said to Jay Leno. "These things happen. It's unfortunate, it's sad, but you know she is an admirable woman... When it's all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself. I'm to blame. If you're inclined to judge, put it here."

No problem there, Mel.

When asked by Leno if he was planning on marrying Oksana, Gibson replied: "Why would you get married twice?"

Considering that he recently said "there is no salvation for those outside the Church" and considering he's now broken Church doctine via his divorce and unholy child making, we just wanna know: How are you preparing to rot in Hell for all of eternity, Mel?

Celebrity gossip magazines will go to the far ends of the globe for a story. Or at least to Russia.

Earlier this week, People tracked down the mother of Oksana Grigorieva and grilled her about rumors that her daughter contributed to the break-up of Mel Gibson's divorce.

"He split up with his wife three years ago, so to suggest that she has broken up their marriage is rubbish," Lyudmila Chernukha said. "He was no longer with his wife so he was bound to meet some woman at some point, it just happened to be Oksana."

As for whether or not Grigorieva is knocked up with the actor's love child, Lyudmila pretty much confirmed it.

"I can't say anything. Wait for the official statement from them."

Hey, when it comes to infidelity, divorce and children out of wedlock, it's not his public to whom Gibson must come clean. It's his Catholic God.

It looks like we can remove the question mark from the headline of an article we published a couple weeks ago.

There's no longer any doubt that Oksana Grigorieva is pregnant.

While the original story emanated from a rarely-reliable source (The National Enquirer), none other than TMZ itself - one of the seedier, albeit accurate, celebrity gossip sites on the Web - has now confirmed that Mel Gibson has, indeed, knocked up his Russian mistress.

TMZ reports that Gibson - a staunch Catholic, who will have some serious explaining to do at the Pearly Gates - has already told estranged wife Robyn and their children about about the pregnancy.

Grigorieva is in her second trimester. Gibson is in trouble with his God.

During a week that's already seen the leaking of Carrie Prejean lingerie pics; a cat fight between Jayde Nicole and Audrina Patridge; and a possible Deanna Hummel sex tape, might the following be the most sordid story of all?

According to The National Enquirer, there's a reason why Mel Gibson's wife filed for divorce last month after 28 years of marriage: the actor's mistress, Oksana Grigorieva, is pregnant.

The tabloid - which, remember, was the first to report on John Edwards' affair with Rielle Hunter - claims Gibson's children were stunned by the news, as his two oldest sons - 26-year-old twins Edward and Christian - will hire an attorney to protect their trust funds.

"In late April, Mel gathered his children at the family home in Malibu and broke the news that Oksana is pregnant, and he expects them to accept the baby as a new sibling," a friend told the newspaper. "They are quite upset... they're furious with him and say they're going to take steps to protect their inheritance, which they feel is in jeopardy."

Wow. Looks like Oksana has more in common with Octomom than just a similar face!

Give Mel Gibson credit for his utter lack of shame.

Despite a divorce and an affair that run completely counter to the teachings of the church he's publicly espoused for years, the actor flaunted his relationship with Oksana Grigorieva in public last night.

The couple attended a screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

"Mel has been single for almost three years and it's nice to see him getting out and enjoying himself," his rep told People, referring to Gibson's separation from wife Robyn, which started long before divorce papers were filed.

Still, you'd think the actor - who was dressed in a black suit with a dark gray shirt at the movie - would be more careful about his public image. After all, he's still making apologies to people for hating on Jews so passionately.

Grigorieva, a 39-year-old Russian signer, is signed to Gibson's record label. She held hands with her man as they walked the red carpet prior taking a seat inside the screening at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

"They came in quietly and as under the radar as they could and they were pretty low-key," sad a witness. "Mel seemed very comfortable."

For all the controversy over gay marriage, abortion and the death penalty, few acts are as antithetical to the teachings of the Catholicism as divorce.

Therefore, all eyes were on Mel Gibson yesterday as he attended Church of the Holy Family in Malibu.

The actor had spent the prior week in Costa Rica, following news of his pending divorce and rumors of an affair with Oksana Grigorieva. How did the congregation treat its most famous member? Very well, reportedly.

"He was drinking coffee with church guests and seemed very relaxed," a witness told People about Gibson, who socialized with friends for an hour after Mass.

Sounds like Mel Gibson has to worry about the passion of Oksana Pochepa!

In an interview with Great Britain's The Sun, the 24-year old Russian pop singer says she's been enjoying a relationship with the actor for months. And it sounds like more than just a fling.

"This is serious and I hope that our union will be real and strong and long-lasting," Pochepa told the newspaper yesterday.

The singer met Gibson in August 2008 when she was hired to compose a song for his upcoming movie, Edge of Darkness.

A source on the Massachusetts set told Us Weekly that the pair would often hang out together in Gibson's trailer... if you know what we mean! (Editor's note: that's actually all we mean by that statement. But it's not hard to imagine what they were doing in there.)

In Gibson's defense, insiders have said he and wife Robyn - who filed for divorce this week - have been separated for three years. But that makes this story far less juicy.
