Lamar Odom has now confirmed that reports this past weekend are true. He is in discussions to return to the L.A. Clippers, the last NBA team he played for.
Spotted at LAX earlier, he made it clear that something is indeed going on between him and the team, which did not re-sign him after the 2012-13 campaign.
Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said he met with Lamar Friday to have a discussion and there is a buzz that serious negotiations are underway with Odom.
The team does have a roster spot, so it's not out of the question that the estranged Mr. Khloe Kardashian could be back on the NBA court before long.
Odom, 34, certainly wants back in the game, because he's been seriously training for the last month, and seems to have convinced the Clips he's drug free.
This was a guy who appeared to be on an epic downward spiral this fall.
Pretty startling, considering the athlete never actually went to rehab and was in the throes of hardcore crack addiction as recently as a few months ago.
He was also pretty terrible at balling last season, averaging career lows.
With the aid of couples counseling with Khloe and potentially a new NBA deal, however, Odom's stunning comeback appears nigh ... in hoops and life.
Just make sure you put the pipe (and Polina Polonsky) down, Lam Lam.
