John McAfee, the billionaire creator of McAfee Antivirus software, was arrested in Guatemala yesterday for entering the country illegally.
McAfee is wanted for murder in Belize.
Guatemalan officials, along with Interpol agents, detained the 67-year-old at a hotel in an upscale part of Guatemala City, according to news reports.
McAfee has been on the run ever since he was named a person of interest in the murder of his neighbor in Belize, where he has been living for several years.
His attorney is battling to keep John from being returned to Belize, claiming his life will be in danger if he is because "he has denounced authorities."
It's unclear if that claim has any merit, but we're glad McAfee is in custody. If he is innocent, he can certainly afford a vigorous defense to clear his name.
