Rachel Uchitel Speaks on Celebrity Rehab Stint, Battle With "Love Addiction"

by at . Comments

In a rare TV interview, Tiger Woods' famed mistress Rachel Uchitel spoke on the Today Show about her addiction to love and how that led her astray.

Appearing alongside her Celebrity Rehab mentor, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Rache promoted her stint on the VH1 program and explained why she went on it.

"I knew that I needed help," Uchitel, who claims she went on the program to deal with her love addiction. "And I wanted to get it from Dr. Drew."

Love Addict

Uchitel she needs help ... and had some lip injections.

The 35-year-old all-pro mistress also said she was being treated for addiction to Ambien and other prescribtion medications, which she did not identify.

Dr. Dew said Rachel Uchitel's condition is partly triggered by traumatic events in her past, such as the premature deaths of her father and fiance Andy.

She was set to get married before he perished in the 9/11 attacks.

"People think it is a moral issue if somebody falls in love, all over the place," Uchitel said. "It is not, it is a disease and disorder; you feel like you have a hole in your heart and are waiting for a knight in shining armor to come and save you."

In her case, that knight must be married and famous.

"But it is not an excuse for anyone's behavior. You get stuck in relationships that are not right; you put a mask over somebody and pretend they’re somebody they’re not. You get disappointed when they don’t react the way you want."

Pretty much what happened with David Boreanaz.

Fortunately, "I'm a completely different person now than I was before I went on the show," Uchitel said of the "most intense" Celebrity Rehab season yet.

The show premieres Wednesday. Don't miss it.

Wow, I am sorry but I like Rachel and I am glad she seeked help whether these other heartless readers and posters agree - it had to be embarassing to admit a lot of what she had to talk about on Dr. Drew's show and in rehab and I don't see how any of you other people can judge her so harshly without having a clue what addiction to love really is. I mean, losing someone you love like she did can throw you into a tailspin and you don't even realize how your grief is manafesting until it's sometimes too late and the damage is done. You peopl should all look inward at your also unperfect selves before you go throwing rocks at glass houses.

THIS GIRL IS A TOTAL LOSER. I bet she has been like her whole life....just using anyone and everything to get her name out there. she is even using Dr. Drew. She claimed to want to be on the show because it was her chance for people to know her. now she is claiming a love addiction and she wanted his help. If she really wanted help, she wouldn't feel the need to do it in front of the world. I think Rachel is a complete loser, an insensitive person and a very sad excuse for a woman. What goes around will come back around to her. SHE IS A PHONY!!!!

LOVE ADDICTION!? What a fucking joke!! It's called spreading your legs to married men for money and fame. Fucking go away already. You are and will remain a nobody!

In today's world, there are so-called experts, who for the right amount of money, can miraculously manufacture victims from thin air. This is a slap in the face to real victims, when opportunists claim victimhood.

Why would anyone want to watch a show w/this low life on it who would not know the truth if it bit her in her ???. She is such a phony and is using this to keep her name in the news. She needs to crawl back under her rock.
