Fans are split on whether or not Kara DioGuardi's return to American Idol is a good thing.
But show executives are reacting to the news like the judge is the second coming of Simon Cowell. Here's what Fox president of alternative programming, Mike Darnell, said of DioGuardi:
“Kara’s spitfire personality and sharp musical sensibility infused American Idol with a new energy last year. She clearly has a keen eye for talent - spotting Adam Lambert’s superstar quality early on last season - and her performance on the season 8 finale was one of the most memorable in recent Idol history.”
Darnell forgot to mention that Kara has to lighten the heck up. She isn't actually God's gift to music.
Said American Idol producer Simon Fuller:
"We are so happy to welcome back Kara for her second season with Idol. She is a breath of fresh air and her passion for music and her understanding of talent is invaluable. This show is all about discovering new talent, and Kara’s championing of Adam Lambert is proof positive of her great instinct.”
Earlier this summer, DioGuardi got married to Mike McCuddy.

AI can already end their run because of ADAM's emergence as WORLD Idol and Superstar through their show. Their quest has ended because AI's original title is: AMERICAN IDOL: The Search for a Superstar.
And Simon says that what they're looking for is a someone who is a superstar to the world, not only US. And no one can top ADAM after this year. And it was Paula, not Kara, who acknowledged and recognized ADAM's star from day one.
Kara always criticized ADAM as theatrical and not emotionally connected but warmed up to him only when she knew she has to join ADAM's bandwagon or be left behind. She didn't get ROF and she had her chance to turn around on Ellen's but still not get it.
Simon is a fan from his audition with the look in his eyes. No doubt about it. But tried to hold back and tried to give criticism for ADAM's good from day one saying he's theatrical. But it's Kara rooting for someone else who needed warming up. But she's forgiven with that Rock God comment.
My question, are the producers of the show blatantly admitting AI got it wrong with who the winner is??? Why mention ADAM and not KRIS, the winner in saying AI is all about finding new talent?
AI should do changes in their voting system now that they concede it's really ADAM who is the TALENT discovered but their system sucks. The judges should have a say just like Dancing with the Stars. But Paula should be back.

I will watch the show more since Paula is gone. She was nerve-racking to listen to. I really like Kara and I think that she fits in well with Simon and Randy.

I am so upset about this news, one of the main reasons I watched idol every season was because of paula and her crazy antics. But deep down she really did have a passion and love for the new talent in America. Im sad to see her go, but will always love her many faces and antics on the show. Take a look!

kara sucks. everyone i know will no longer be watching AI without paula, i only tolerated kara because of the other 3 judges. also, ive never even heard of kara before AI who is she? all i know is she anoying and sucks and she ruined the show.
