Hannah Brown has been named the next Bachelorette on ABC, and it's already very clear:
Both the network and the reality star herself want you to forget the beauty... and focus on the beast.
The 24-year old is a former beauty pageant contestant champion, but she told Ellen DeGeneres shortly after she was given The Bachelorette distinction that she plans on showing viewers more sides than just the one who donned fancy gowns and bathing suits on various stages in front of random judges.
Brown told Ellen in this interview that potential husbands should not prepare themselves for the "packaged version" of herself.
What does that mean, exactly?
We're not entirely sure, but it's a theme ABC is apparently emphasizing in its Brown-as-The-Bachelorette campaign.
In the very first extended promo for The Bachelorette Season 15, Hannah is initially seen walking through the woods, giving off serious fairy tale princess vibes, complete with her beauty queen sash and tiara.
However, she quickly sheds these accessories, leaving roses behind in her wake and teasing the true Hannah, who producers want us to know is confident and ready to find her true love.
"Think you know her?" ABC asks in the promo. "Think again."
Brown, of course, was confirmed as The Bachelorette the same night Colton Underwood convinced Cassie Randolph to be his girlfriend (but not his fiancee).
After feuding during her season as a Bachelor suitor with Caelynn Miller-Keyes, Hannah sometimes took on the the alter ego of "Hannah Beast," something ABC is now getting behind before unleashing her upon the television world as its next series anchor.
Said Hannah after being announced as The Bachelorette:
"I do believe that [love] can happen, and I'm just really just so grateful and honored that people saw my heart and that I get to continue showing that and that somebody will hopefully share their heart with me."
“I feel all the emotions, but honestly I’m just really grateful for this opportunity,” she added to Chris Harrison at the time.
In a description for the premiere episode, ABC said returning home provided Hannah with the time to reflect and heal from her breakup with Colton, as well as helping her gain "a powerful understanding of her desire to be deeply and fiercely loved."
"Now, with a newfound sense of self and a little southern charm, she is readier than ever to find her true love," the network previews.
