NeNe Leakes has not kept quiet about her husband's cancer battle or how it has made her life worse. She even admitted she may divorce Gregg.
But Cynthia Bailey is calling out her The Real Housewives of Atlanta castmate.
She says that NeNe is an expert at making everything, including someone else's cancer, all about her.
Kandi Burruss has her own YouTube channel, and that's where Cynthia Bailey decided to stop by and say her piece.
"In the words of Eva," Cynthia says. "Everything is not about you."
"I felt like in a lot of ways," she expresses. "She made it about her like Eva’s wedding."
Cynthia then adds: "she made my Seagram’s event about her,"
Getting attention is part of the job of a Real Housewife, but there are limits to what other reality stars will tolerate.
Cynthia then delves into something very personal for the Leakes family.
"To be very honest," she observes. "I even felt the cancer situation with Gregg she kinda made that in a lot of ways about her."
"Being the caretaker," Cynthia explains. "The caregiver."
NeNe Leakes has spoken about Gregg's cancer at length and been extremely honest about her role as a caregiver for him.
But Cynthia believes that she has pushed things too far in terms of talking about how it changes her life.
"And at the end of the day," Cynthia points out. "He’s actually the one battling the cancer."
"This is my opinion," Cynthia adds as a disclaimer. "And she’s very big on us expressing our opinions."
In other words, she's justifying dragging NeNe using NeNe's own arguments. That sounds fiar.
"In my opinion," Cynthia continues. "And you watch the season back you guys have seen this for yourself and you guys watch the show for yourself."
"You know," she tells viewers. "You have your own opinion of what you saw."
"What I saw," Cynthia expresses. "Was some very significant things happen this season that weren’t really about her that she made about her."
Some commenters were happy to see NeNe get thrown under the proverbial bus.
"At least someone is finally speaking on NeNe’s selfishness & the ‘poor me’ mentality, of this season!" expresses one commenter.
"Cynthia isn’t lying," asserts another. "Nene makes things about her."
"She really mad Eva’s special day about her," that comment continues. "She complains more about taking care of Greg than anything."
The statement concludes: "She needs help [for real]."
Others, however, felt that Cynthia was being very unfair to NeNe.
"I dont understand the Eva wedding thing….DID THEYYYYYY NOT APPROACH NENE," asks a defender. "Wtf…."
"Yy’all approached her," the comment continues. "Yall started the powwow."
"All this chest Cynthia got now," the defender wonders. "Why not say we should meet up tomorrow or another time and talk about it."
"Let’s enjoy Eva’s day," the comment concludes. "How you gonna partake and relish in it then take it back NOW bc y’all are at odds. GTFOH"
Clearly, NeNe is a very polarizing figure among fans.
That is literally part of her job. If everyone loved or everyone hated her, she wouldn't take center stage on the show.
Instead, people feel strongly and are divided -- which makes her great for television.
We should point out that NeNe should not be maligned for using her platform to discuss the very real burdens that caregivers can suffer.
That said ... it's hard to say when dicussing it outside of a therapy appointment becomes too much.
