Cardi B decided that she needed a bigger change in life than a titty renovation.
Just after midnight in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, the "Bodak Yellow" singer took to Instagram with an announcement.
She and her husband, Offset, have split.
Cardi B waited until the witching our to share her news with fan.
In the video that we have included with this post, she was pretty direct with her fans and followers and made the announcement in a conversational way.
"So everybody been bugging me and everything," Cardi begins.
Apparently she perceived that some fans had wondered if something was up with her marriage to Offset.
"And you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now," Cardi continues.
Clearly, their efforts to resolve their issues have not been successful.
However, Cardi affirms: "We are really good friends and we are really good business partners."
Neither of those are the same as perfect spouses, however.
"You know," she continues. "He’s always somebody that I run to to talk to,"
"And we got a lot of love for each other," Cardi says. "But things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time."
Cardi may be making the announcement, but she's not laying the blame at Offset's feet.
"It’s nobody fault I guess," Cardi says. "We just grew out of love."
That happens very, very often with couples.
"But," Cardi emphasizes. "We are not together anymore."
"I don’t know," she then speculates. "It might take time to get a divorce."
She's right -- divorce, especially with division of assets and a child in the mix, can be a contentious, lengthy process.
At the end of the video, Cardi once again affirms that she still loves Offset ... after a fashion.
"And I’m going to always have a lot of love for him," Cardi says.
She concludes: "because he is my daughter’s father."
This is leaps and bounds from the way that she used to talk about Offset.
Even relatively recently, she spoke about him as if she were still giddily head-over-heels for him.
Or, maybe more accurately, she just made it clear that she was incredibly eager to bone him all of the time.
Not all of Cardi's followers believe her.
"Naaaa this is a stunt," declared one suspicious fan.
"Because how u say s--t haven’t been working out for a long time?" the follower asks.
The fan notes: "Y’all was just posted up lovey dovey!"
"I know u Cardi," the follower claims. "U don’t do fake love! I call bulls--t."
While Cardi B has been known to pull pranks on her fans and followers, this subject sounds a little too serious for her to joke.
It's easy to imagine why Cardi may have been extra affectionate recently.
Sometimes, when a couple is worried that they're about to break up, they'll double down on physical affection in the hopes that it makes a difference.
It's part of making an effort, and sometimes it reignites their passion for each other.
Sometimes, it does not.
It doesn't sound like it worked this time.
Cardi spent all of that time horny on main for nothing.
Cardi does not actually say what drove the two of them to break up.
Sometimes, people just grow apart. That's part of life and definitely part of relationships.
But it may be that a major factor was Cardi's reported suspicions about Offset's fidelity, or lack thereof.
Remember when Cardi B was arrested for assault?
She allegedly ordered violence -- more than once -- against a woman whom she believed that Offset had boned.
That is not how you resolve cheating, folks. You get mad at your partner and no one else.
Was Offset a cheater and Cardi got tired of it? Maybe. Or maybe it's something totally unrelated.
