This ought to go without saying, but we’re gonna go ahead and say it anyway:
No one has any idea what will happen to the television world in the months ahead.
Not when a dangerous virus is making its way around the globe, halting almost all filming on almost all television shows in the process.
When might Hollywood return to any sort of normal? When can shooting begin on various sitcoms and dramas?
We don’t know. It’s as simple as that.
And yet: Broadcast networks are at least planning to air a regular fall and spring schedule, having made a number of recent announcements regarding the returns of their most popular programs.

This ABC medical drama was named the most-watched drama in the world. It makes sense then that it is coming back next season.
Grey’s Anatomy – Renewed

Meredith Grey will continue to get into love triangles for at least one more year at ABC.
American Idol – Renewed
ABC’s weird revival of this once-hot franchise will be back. But no deals are in place for any of the current judges to return.
Station 19 – Renewed

This Grey’s Anatomy spinoff showed some signs of life with a new showrunner. It will be back for a fourth season.
Reef Break – Canceled
Poppy Montgomery’s return to the small screen was short… and pretty terrible.
How to Get Away With Murder – Ended

After six seasons of outlandish murders, How to Get Away with Murder ended… with several more murders.
Modern Family – Ended

This show was funny for five seasons. We would like to forget the other six were made.
Fresh Off the Boat – Canceled
Constance Wu got her wish — a whole year later.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Ending

This Marvel TV series never quite lived up to the hype. It will be put out of its misery later this year.
All Rise – Renewed
It was touch and go for a while, but CBS did the right thing and picked up another season.
The Amazing Race – Renewed

CBS schedules this series whenever there are holes in the schedule. It always brings decent ratings.
Bob Hearts Abishola – CBS
This funny comedy will be back for a second season.
Bull – Renewed
This truly awful procedural has somehow managed to score a renewal.
Evil – Renewed
This show creeped us out big time, so we’re happy about this renewal!
Motherland: Fort Salem – Renewed
This smart, brilliantly conceived Freeform drama follows witches serving in the United States military in an alternate version of our world with its own richly developed history. Airing the next day on Hulu, Motherland: Fort Salem was officially renewed the day before the Season 1 finale aired.
FBI – Renewed
FBI is a franchise and CBS knows that. It will be back!
FBI: Most Wanted – Renewed
This spinoff of FBI is coming back!
MacGyver – Renewed
This reboot has been renewed, and we’re not sure this is real life. The show is abysmal.
Magnum P.I. – Renewed
CBS loves reboots. This show has been renewed for Season 3!
Mom – Renewed
Mom will continue to make people laugh for another year.
NCIS – Renewed

This long in the tooth CBS procedural will continue to solve crimes into 2021.
NCIS: LA – Renewed

This NCIS spinoff will be back during the 2020-21 TV season.
NCIS: New Orleans – Renewed
NCIS New Orleans has been renewed for Season 7. No surprise there.
The Neighborhood – Renewed
The Neighborhood has been renewed for a third season at CBS.
SEAL Team – Renewed
CBS has renewed SEAL Team for a fourth season. Hooray, right?
Survivor – Renewed
Renewed for an additional two seasons.
S.W.A.T. – Renewed
CBS has placed an order for a fourth season of S.W.A.T. Will you watch the new season?
Young Sheldon – Renewed
The Big Bang Theory may be gone, but Young Sheldon continues to be a funny show!
Broke – Canceled
It was a weird vehicle for NCIS alum Pauley Perrette, but it did not stand the test of time. CBS canceled it after a single season.
Carol’s Second Act – Canceled
This comedy series about a woman taking on a new career late in life did not resonate with viewers of CBS shows.
God Friended Me – Canceled
This beloved dramedy was cut loose by CBS after two seasons. It was one of the best shows around.

Man With a Plan is over. The Eye network canceled the comedy after four seasons.

This Edie Falco-fronted drama was very watchable. But people chose to not watch it.
Criminal Minds – Ended
This series is one of the best procedurals out there. It ended after 15 years!
Hawaii Five-0 – Canceled

Despite still being a strong performer, CBS canceled the show, and fans got a poorly cobbled together finale.
Madam Secretary – Ended

CBS brought this Tea Leoni-fronted series to a close in December. It was such a great show.
All American – Renewed
The CW was close to canceling this show after its first season, but it blossomed into a hit.
Batwoman – Renewed
Ruby Rose killed at as the DC hero, and The CW rewarded the show with a second season.
Black Lightning – Renewed
Black Lightning has been renewed for a fourth season at The CW, which makes sense given that the hero has joined the Arrowverse.
Charmed – Renewed
This reboot will continue to cast a spell on The CW for another year.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – Renewed
This Arrowverse series is hilarious. It makes sense then that CW would want to keep it around.
Dynasty – Renewed
This truly terrible reboot is coming back for another season. We’re sure the next one will be the worst.
The Flash – Renewed
The CW’s #1 show will be back for another season — and beyond.
In The Dark – Renewed
This addictive CW drama will be back for another season of mystery during the 2020-21 TV season.
Legacies – Renewed
This spinoff of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals is coming back for another season.
Nancy Drew – Renewed
Nancy Drew is solving more supernatural crimes for The CW in 2020-21.
Riverdale – Renewed
