Nicole Nafziger’s plans to reunite with fiance Azan Tefou didn’t exactly go according to plan, at least not according to the plans that she stated early in 2019.
The 90 Day Fiance star has been once again plagued by breakup rumors of people who decided that either she or Azan must have backed out.
Now, Nicole is going on the offensive, telling In Touch Weekly that she and Azan are still an item.
In fact, she claims that their bond is now “stronger than ever.”

So, we haven’t heard as much from Nicole lately. A lot of us have been caught up with the The Other Way stars as well as the stars from original recipe 90 Day Fiance Season 7. Nicole is still alive, doing her thing, and wanting to banish any rumors.
Nicole has lost some weight!
She has recently been flaunting her weight loss after losing 10 pounds, she looks gorgeous. Though, obviously, Nicole has always been beautiful.
But she can’t shake these new rumors
This week, rumors have circulated that she and Azan Tefou — whose real name is Hassan M’Raouni — have finally ended their long-distance engagement after years of apparent stagnation.
The rumors are false
Nicole has confirmed to In Touch Weekly that she and Azan remain in a relationship and remain engaged to one another, despite the time and distance. This engagement has lasted for years, with both weddings and vacations abruptly canceled during that time period. Additionally, Nicole lives in Florida while Azan resides in Morocco.
Sure, things can be strained
Nicole admits that it “isn’t easy” at times loving someone who is an entire ocean away, someone who has been denied a K-1 visa.
But things are good
“We are happy and truly stronger than ever in our relationship,” Nicole gushes.
Sure, things aren’t perfect
Nicole acknowledges that “every couple” has their arguments and disagreements (which is mostly true), particularly when there are factors like long-distance romance involved.
Their status is clear
Nicole expresses that she and Azan are “happily engaged and waiting for the right moment to tie the knot.”
There’s no date set
Nicole admits that they have “no official plans” in terms of the wedding date, the venue, or even a general time frame.
Nicole recently spoke about this on social media
“I just want to be happy with the person that I love,” she expressed in her Instagram Story.
Her experience is rare
Nicole added: “Not many know what it’s like to be in a long-distance.” And while a number of people have done long-distance romances, most are separated by a few hours of driving or a short flight within the same country. Intercontinental long-distance relationships that last years are a whole other scenario.
She offered kind words to fellow LDR couples
“For those who are in a LDR. Stay strong my friend,” Nicole offered encouragingly. She’s such a sweetheart.
Azan is still a big part of her life
Nicole has given Azan credit for helping her to remain focused upon her weight loss journey and weight loss goals.
She feels like he’s on this journey with her
“My fiance Azan is a great motivator,” she bragged to In Touch, “always letting me know he supports me in my journey and keeps the encouraging words coming.”
She wants to be a role model for May
“I want her to grow up with this healthy lifestyle and learn good things from me and Azan,” Nicole explained.
Azan is a bit of a fitness buff
Fans of the couple 100% understand why Nicole feels that it’s worth sticking it out even if it’s years before they can marry. Of course, critics say that no number of rock hard abs are worth spending so many years of your life in limbo when you’re a young, beautiful woman like Nicole.
Nicole wants to inspire others
“If over this journey I can help motivate and inspire others to jumpstart their fitness journey, then I guess I’m doing something right with this platform I have,” she expressed. She’s so sweet.
For now, Nicole’s focus is on May
She is, after all, a mother first. That takes precedence over everything.

Nicole and Azan have apparently decided to opt out of further seasons. (Notably, some who have said this about reality shows in the past later walked back their words,s o only time will tell)

She works at Starbucks and it is believed that she is working there again, using that and supplementing the income with Instagram endorsement money.

Of course, she and Azan remain in touch
They call or video chat regularly. That way, even over this great distance, they can keep their spark alive.

So why were there rumors in the first place?
Well, to put it bluntly, a lot of 90 Day Fiance fans just don’t like Azan. Some of it is straight-up bigotry, an intense dislike for a brown-skinned Muslim man. There’s no justification or excuse for that.
On others, he had a bad impression
It’s sometimes important to remember that language barriers and idioms do not always translate well, and that people who learned English as a second language may come across as rude or blunt on certain topics.
Some of their early scenes were hard to watch
Again, we don’t know if Azan is referring to a Moroccan idiom that sounds less cruel than these English words sound to our American ears. Of course fans love Nicole and were mortified by what sounded like body-shaming.
On the subject of bodies …
Nicole has shed an incredible amount of weight. She has always been a gorgeous young woman but she is really stunning fans in her photos these days.
