Fans have been concerned for years that Azan Tefou, whose real name is Hassan, is just stringing along Nicole Nafziger.
Viewers of this latest season of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? haven’t exactly been reassured by the content of Season 4.
The plan remains the same: Nicole will embark on an expensive trip, meet up with Azan, and eventually bring him to the US with her.
Nicole keeps showing a lot of eagerness.
Azan, from what 90 Day Fiance viewers have seen, has not.
After their latest mysteriously canceled trip, fans have been reporting that Azan is finally done catfishing her.
Not because he had a moral wakeup call — but because she ran out of cash to send him.
Is it true? Take a look:
Is it over?

A lot of fans want to see Nicole get her happily ever after, but some of her supporters are less and less sure that she can get that with Azan. No matter how you feel about them as a couple, if this new breakup rumor about them is true, it’s going to be huge for the fandom.
First, they tried 90 Day Fiance

Nicole apparently signed up because she thought that the show might help with the K-1 visa process. Nope! Where’s the drama in that? The paperwork (and it is expensive) remains the American spouse’s job.
That didn’t work

Nicole says that men Azan’s age are not having any luck getting K-1 visas. Young Muslim men having trouble getting into the US is pretty believable, unfortunately. That said … this is the same couple who claims that Morocco doesn’t allow money to be sent out, which does not appear to be true.
The plan is still to live in America

It’s just that that plan now involves extra steps, beyond those of the K-1 visa.
So they’ll get married in Morocco!

That’s what Nicole and Azan tried to do, only to call off the wedding … twice. Nicole’s family is in less good humor about losing out travel money than Nicole herself.
Nicole promised that she’d made a careful investment

She told her fans and family alike that she’d given Azan $6,000 so that he could start a shop in Morocco. It was a very vaguely defined store, and people worried that she was being scammed. Nicole’s intention was to put people at ease because they were laying the groundwork for their future together.
But that was a lie

As many fans suspected for months and as Nicole finally confessed, the claim about the fake store was a total ruse.
Wait, so what happened to the momey?

Apparently, the entire story was bogus from day one. A bit of a relief for people who feared that she’d spent a chunk of savings on a guy who still can’t seem to be bothered to meet up with her. Some fans, however, just thought she was covering for Azan with another lie. …
Okay, so what’s the plan?

Nicole says that Azan found it impossible to get his K-1 visa, so she figures that if she marries him in Morocco and then moves back with him, the spousal visa will carry more weight and help him move.
Nicole has been so giddy about it

Even after the canceled Grenada trip, Nicole was big hyped to use what money she got back (some of that is just lost forever now, due to Azan’s last minute “family emergency”) to plan a trip to Morocco.
She was over the moon with eagerness

The sooner she and May move there, the sooner that Nicole can work on bringing him to the US to live.
Azan seemed … less eager

Viewers winced as they heard his unenthused “yeah” at the prospect of his fiancee coming to see him. That was unsettling to hear for just about everyone BUT Nicole.
She’s fended off breakup rumors

Nicole hears these almost as often as the rest of us do, and she’s always quick to put them to bed.
So why doesn’t she just find some new guy?

Nicole says that this wasn’t about finding an international man or a foreign man — it was about love, and it still is. Nicole is head-over-heels in love with Azan and assures her fans that that isn’t going to change.
She understands why fans are pushy

They want to see her get her happily ever after — or not. And, unlike Nicole, they seem to feel a sense of urgency as real life slips her by while she overinvests in a long-distance relationship that others view with greater suspicion by the day.
So the season came to a close

As with all previous seasons with Nicole and Azan, they didn’t end things any more married than they started things. We wonder how long this series could go on with them as stars with that remaining true.
And Nicole was making plans to head to Morocco

Despite Azan’s apparent lack of enthusiasm, she was gung-ho to travel.
And then …

Keep in mind that this latest cancelation would have happened, most likely, in late January of 2019.
Did Azan dump Nicole?

A rumor has been circulating on social media. The claim is that Azan told Nicole that if she didn’t have enough money to bring over, she shouldn’t come — ostensibly because he would not have the resources to support her or to support May. The claim is that, as other doubters have suggested, Azan was just using Nicole for cash and has now dumped her because she ran out.
Is it true?

Notice that a lot of the doubters tend to cite messages that Nicole’s stepdad receives.
The dude does not mince words

Azan’s real name is Hassan, but Nicole’s stepdad has a more creative pronunciation. He thinks that the guy is using Nicole, pure and simple.
But are his “tips” real?

Anyone can send an email claiming to have special insight. Anyone could make messages appear to originate in Morocco. Not all tips pan out.
So they’re still together

Really, if Azan broke up with Nicole for any reason, don’t you think that she’d let the world know? In fact, a lot of people would like to see her get her best revenge (by living her best life). Her plan is still to travel out to Morocco … allegedly this year, possibly this summer … marry him, then move back to the US.
In the mean time …

This whole thing might come unraveled if some kind person in Morocco will just send Nicole $1 via any international money service. If Azan’s been lying to her about Morocco not allowing money to leave, she should know.
