After a brief breakup, Leah Messer and Jason Jordan are officially back together.
The couple reconciled with little fanfare back in November, and many Teen Mom 2 fans were quick to congratulate Leah.
But questions remained about what led these two to call it quits in the first place.
Recently, Leah decided to open up about the split on her Life Reboot podcast.
And fans have expressed surprise over her reasons for temporarily kicking Jason to the curb.

Leah first revealed that she was dating Jason back in July. And the couple seemed to get serious in a hurry.

In an interview with Hollywood Life from November 5, Leah spoke about her decision to call it quits with Jason.

“I’m not saying Jason’s not the right person,†she told the site.

“He wasn’t in a great place in his life, and it is what it is,” she continued.
Opening Up
On a recent episode of her podcast (which appears to have been recorded during Leah and Jason’s time apart), Messer further opened up on what motivated her to end her relationship.
Co-Dependence
“As the relationship grew, I found myself being way more needy or co-dependent on [Jason],†Leah said. “I felt like I needed him around.”
Addicted to Love
Yes, it seems Leah was uncomfortable with the feeling of needing Jason in her life.

“I found myself caught up and so consumed in his life, so I really had to hit the reset button…it was all about that person and doing everything for them,” Messer continued.

“It was taking more from me than it was giving….I felt like everything was getting chaotic,” Leah added.

“When I finally broke off the relationship it was like taking a deep breath, Messer concluded. “I just felt a sense of relief.â€Â

But according to Leah, Jason wasn’t willing to let the relationship go just yet.

“Just to clarify because I usually don’t respond to anything, but with her three, my child, TV, tabloids, rumors, her travel and work, my work, friends and family, and exes, it’s not a simple love story,” Jordan wrote, adding that “people have baggage and sometimes behaviors have to change on both sides.”
